The journalist that wrote this is an idiot. So many misnomer I swear. First the government has not scrapped JSS and SS, they are just proposing it. There is possibility it could be accepted or rejected. The second nonsense written in the report is that Nigeria will be moving from 6-3-3-4 to 12-4. This is a misnomer, Nigeria currently operates the 9-3-4 system. The journalist is a product of the failed educational system in Nigeria. Such a pity

TOPCRUISE: It is you and your family that the government has not licenced to carry gun. Continue clapping for their arrogance. If you offend any politician today, they will pull out an AK 47 and shoot you. AK47 is nothing to them. They even arm their boys with weapons more dangerous than that. It is when it's time for you and your family to arm yourself that we start hearing that AK47 is dangerous, Nigerians will run wild, bla blah... As of we are not already running wild. Those that want to kill you already have the guns, it is you and your families that don't have and you should use every means to advocate that Nigerians should be licenced to carry arms as this should benefit you and your family |

Sirchiboy: It's not that it does not move but the profit you make is too low. It's almost like you are just buying and selling back to consumers at almost thesame price the producer sold it. You will make profit but very little. I have personally never seen a more useless business that it. |

God1000: The Buhari civilian dministration was more wicked than Abacha but you won't hear that because the US president is happy with him. Also there are some despotic and wicked US president's in the past but they won't tell you that. It was an American president that ordered the use of atomic bomb against civilian target. Angelfrost: Are you guys even aware education is a professional sector? Most of these rules you hear were properly thought out before being rolled out. The reason for the 18 years is enormous but I will just give you one. Now if you have a sister who is 15 and she is in the university and I have sexual act with her. You became aware and arrested me claiming your sister was a minor and her consent should be disregarded. My defense can become very easy if I claim I thought she was an adult because she was in the institution meant for adults. That your claim of being genius is ridiculous to say the least. I've spent 25 years in the education sector and I can tell you, I've not seen a single genius in Nigeria. I have seen intelligent people though. Not every intelligent person is a genius. In education genius are categorised as kids with special needs and if that is the case, there is already provision for that. This law does not disturb that. This law is setting a baseline to enter the university. If you are in the special category, you should have documents to back it up, not just saying my mum told me I'm a genius. |

nairalanda1: What you said is not only perfectly in order but also the existing law. The minister is just playing with Nigerians if he made that statement. I just checked and the existing Policy on Education remains the same. Whoever is telling them that the age has been reduced is just making a mockery of the intelligence of Nigerians. The age for entering higher institutions remains 18. 1 Like |

dododawa1: That is nonsense. The minister, as it stands today cannot reverse that policy. Anybody telling you otherwise is just deceiving you. Nigeria is a corrupt country so even with the existing policy, it will be possible for a kid of twelve years old to be in the university. However, do yourself a favour and pick the recent "National Policy on Education" to check if the age has been reversed. No age has been reversed, so any school that choose to implement that law cannot be faulted. The government can choose to ignore the offence when committed if they like but as it stands. The law is the law. The thing many Nigerians don't even know is that the law was not even made in this istration but in Obasanjo's istration. What this istration wanted to do is enforce it. |

Zulu11zulu: Have you seen where the US marine conduct their training? I have a cousin that couldn't complete the training, maybe you should hear from them then you will know that we are even joking here. Did you know that what we know today as terrorism or suicide mission was a form of military training given to a group of people when they were loosing the battle? Military training is intense everywhere. It is not meant for the faint hearted. The reason for people not ing has nothing to do with the training. Even in IT sector particularly programming is also not easy. There is no easy job anywhere. If it was easy, you won't be paid for it. The military hierarchy in Nigeria is so bastardised that people prefer ing the local vigilante than being a recruit in the army or police. |

Zulu11zulu: Military training is tough everywhere regardless of the country. Infact compared to the USA, Nigeria military training is a joke. The big reason people no longer and I think they know but this report systematically wants to avoid it. Is that the military is not looking for staffs but slaves. Who want to be a slave? The job is no longer a career. When you graduate from the University, you are told in clear that the military is not for you. The only people that can the military with a university degree are the elite or those that can pay the huge bribe required. The result is that the elite are at the top cadre. So what they are looking for now is the recruit. In a state that have a high literacy rate, you expect to find people who will be happy to the recruit of police or army after spending their money on education. Another reason is that no reasonable Nigerian from the south today will be happy to be working alongside Boko haram since the military usually convert Boko haram to its . Let them continue damaging their institution and then be pretending they don't know the reason. I think last year or so this was also an issue in Edo State during the police recruitment as no one purchased forms. They had to extend the date twice. 1 Like 1 Share |
