1- Stepping down for a better candidate to contest in 2027, either from within the larty or outside. 2-Dropping the heavily inflated coastal road project and fix all the dilapidated roads nationwide. Ekiti road is the worst of all. Let me add the 3rd one: 3- Asking shettima to name his accomplices who are sponsoring bokonharam and banditry in Nigeria and prosecuting them. |

Blakjewelry:I repeat, what you see as poverty in Nigeria isn't seen as poverty elsewhere. For instance, in India and Korea that you mentioned, you can have access to 3 square meal which you can't in Nigeria, if you don't mind doing odd jobs. To even eat one square meal here is difficult to most families. Even in America there's poverty but not same level as seen here. Poverty get level. It may be accommodation or inadequate income level they see as poverty in the US cos there are lots of homeless people and not the 3-square meal or clothes to wear, which most homes can't afford here. So far you're not lazy, you'd definitely eat. Unlike here where there are millions who are willing to do any type of work to live, but no job. No food. 1 Like |

Okoroawusa:Are you sure? Ok then, let's do a recap... due the bad economic polices of govt which led to closure of thousand of smes and foreign businesses, Mr price announced Nigeria's exit, shoprite too. Some said its because they don't want to pay taxes while some others said they exited because they wanted to file for bankruptcy and end it. Contrary to the above, they kept expanding outside Nigeria, making even much more profit in places where taxes paid buy businesses exceeded that of Nigeria. 1 Like |

AMINDA:Point of correction. Not all yorubas. Is osun not a yoruba state, why did tinubu lose there? Is lagos not a yoruba state? Why did he also lose, despite claiming he made lagos? Don't forget, lagos has the largest LGA by yoruba population in the south west. Same LGA is the largest by population in nigeria. Yet, tinubu lost here. Those following tinubu are tribalists and super illiterate people. They believe in the yes sir type of politics and leadership, even if the leader is slitting their throats open, they don't care. Those technocratic beings you mentioned will be the future of yorubas, Mark it. Yorubas will soon beg them. Aregbe is another super man. Anyone who falls out with tinubu is seen as an omo ale by these illiterates. Tinubu doesn't carry weight in Lagos and yoruba land as many may have though. He uses money and intimidation to do everything. Are you aware he rigged ogun election in 2023 in favour of dapo abiodun? Who will question him, except God? A few days after the 2023 general elections, I visited ekiti to see mama. There was massive protest at Adebayo area in ado ekiti. They said they didn't vote tinubu, how come they're declaring him winner in ekiti? Some people said they received 3k each at the polling booth to vote him. Some voted after collecting the money while some didn't. Had fashola been allowed to contest, trust me, na easy win nationwide, likewise osinbajo or ambode. Many of those following tinubu will soon realise how long he had fooled them and led them astray. Like i said earlier today, his empire is nearing it's end in Lagos. 2027 will draw the clear lines. They feel the lines weren't so clear with the 2023 elections here but this time, it will be so clear. 2 Likes 1 Share |

It depends on your plans. Apart from your education, do you have side business? She may endure if she notices you have future and business you're running to cater for your studies and your marriage after graduation cos being a grad isn't enough to secure a job these days. You'd still do nysc . Ladies don't have age on their side and that's why it seems they're always bothered about marriage. Men can stay for as long as they're ready but they can't

DMCY:Abi. As if Lagosians give a fvck. Which governor did tinubu not have issues with? He's a super greedy fellow. We will end his empire perpetually in Lagos, come 2027. Mark today's date. We gave sanwoolu the consolation vote so he could complete his but see what he's doing now. We don't even feel like there's a governor in Lagos. No visible development in place. 5 Likes 1 Share |

Nigeria is over 300m. The quoted figure and the 6th position is official. Sadly, we're not using our population to our benefit due to government bad policies and corruption, unlike China, India, Ethiopia and Bangladesh.

Ofemannnu:So, if toiletries, tiles, pipes , doors aren't building materials, then what are they? Tell me. You've simply agreed to my submissions. If you remove those item's you mentioned from a building, what's left are the iron, sand and cement. In my previous post, I mentioned that igbominas, especially oro people sell iron cos I bought iron from them in different mms. How many of them are selling those items you and i mentioned and in wholesale?Where did I lie seamlessly? I bought Stevo doors which is a known quality Turkish security doors at odunade shopping complex. Stevo is popular at odunade and he's an ibo man. We don't sell doors as much as ibos do. You can quote me anywhere. A whole building of 3 floors are occupied by doors only at odunade. Cross to the other side of the new pedestrian road and you'd see several warehouses where home wares are stocked by ibos. How many of adedoyins and oyin jolayemis do we still have around and I'll mention plenty of ibos who are manufacturers in lagos alone, actively. Where's okin biscuit today? Where is doyin cubes, etc? Most of the banks are owned by ibos, hotels, transportation companies, indigenous breweries, indigenous pharmaceuticals, agribusiness,Computers wares and electronics, Oil and gas, name it. How many Yorubas are trading at alaba market? What of ASPAMDA and Tradefair? Alaba alone will swallow those areas you mentioned. Its where I've also been severally as lagosian We used to be known for such businesses but not anymore. We're now more of s than industrialists and we need to go back. Where's adebowale electronics today? Ibos have taken over that line. Odutola tyres nko? Go to alaba and see wonders. Eleganza had ventured fully into properties with less manufacturing. Don't forget, the topic is about ibos taking over houses and property in Ibadan. In same vein, they're taking over most of the indigenous businesses in which we used to be a leader. Don't talk of overseas businesses and those who own them cos they contribute nothing to Nigerian economy and most of them don't claim Nigeria. Its totally irrelevant to this topic. 1 Like |

Ofemannnu:Igbomimas, especially the oro people are petty-traders in building materials and iron scraps they also sell hand tools. When we talk of major building materials, go to Odunade-Coker at mile 2 and see things. I used to people like you to beat chest until I visited that place. The 90% of the shops there is owned by igbos. A yoruba man owns the odunade/coker complex. That's where I bought all the materials for my house at alimosho. The agbeni-ogunpa market in Ibadan, that used to be occupied by yorubas are now being taken over by igbos. There was a man called shangokoya in those days. He was the sole importer of lister engine which was mainly meant for grinding casava and corn, from india. It's an old invention. The engine uses 2 drums filled with water to cool it down, it has a long wide belt connecting the engine to the grinder if you still it. Some used to convert it to an electric generator in those days. Mr shangokoya became old and his children couldn't continue. That was how the business stopped. Ibos have taken over already. Go to all our villages. Boys have abandoned farming ,now doing okada business in the cities instead of learning the type of trading ibos are doing and taking the skills home to establish. How many ibos do okada transport? Their people will scold then. The last time I travelled to my maternal grandmother's town in ekiti, most of the shops I visited to buy things were owned by ibos. One of them has a petrol station there. If he builds a mansion in my town today, they'd envy him instead of blaming boys who grew up in that town but doing okada transport in the city. As they're leaving for cities, ibos are tapping the opportunities they're leaving behind. There's no way people won't build houses, buy parts, buy drugs if they fall ill. Those boys don't see all these but quick and daily okada money. Who do you blame for that, still ibos? Our orientation needs to change, seriously. 2 Likes 1 Share |

codemaniacs:You may be right but every tribe is also guilty of such crimes. True or false? The onus is on us to learn from them legitimately. How many Yorubas are selling car or car parts at ladipo or elsewhere? What of building materials? These are regular needs and money spinning business areas we're not looking into. You don't need juju or rituals to thrive in it. Only a few of our people who ventured into it never regretted it. I don't need ti mention names. You know them. I'll remind you of Elizade,.metropolitan, etc. They're billionaires today. |

Bigmouth3:Who told you not to do the same? Read my post above. We're the ones doing ourselves not the ibos. They're really innocent |

Nobody reigns forever. Afterall Egypt used to be owned by blacks until something like this happemed and they became nearly non-existent. Praise the ibos for buying up those properties. I grew up at oke ado, near the Nigerian tribune. Most of the houses there built by middle class yorubas had been deserted. I grew up meeting some of them shut, even till i left Ibadan. I've never seen any of the owners around. Most of their children lived abroad while some had even nationalised and died there. None of their children is ing home. I baba obisesan's house at lodge street. He was a notable politician during the awo era. His children, who are already very old, still visit once in a while, while grandchildren aren't even aware such a house exists there. Late Mr Odusote, the owner of the popular odutote bookstores Ltd, the largest bookstores in africa in that era, located at oke bola opposite pa awo's house was on the next street to ours in oke ado. Though he forced 2 of his children to return home and manage his business, none of them lives in the mansion anymore. It's their mechanic who lives there alone, the house that used to be bubbling. They're all living at bodija. One of them is commissioner under sanwoolu, Lere Odusote. All his siblings live abroad while the females among them married white Americans. I was close to them There's Mr olatunde agbeja's house too near college crescent. That place is deserted now. His children are all overseas. Only one of them is around, who owns Boff Insurance brokers. He doesn't even live there. There's this fountain boreholes ltd. The man made sure all his children who went to school in America returned home. They're now managing the man's business. There are several houses at idi ope that are deserted now, they're buying them like no man's business, especially from barr aribisala lodge downwards. There are many reasons I like igbos as a yorubaman. They're more homy than we are. They are more united than we are and more enterprising. You cannot take all these qualities away from them. If they lived all their lives abroad, they must return home and they always look back. They invest home. Unlike us, once we enter UK or America, we pack everything along with us and forget to come back. The current japa syndrome is going to affect us in futhre cos many won't think of coming back again. Their children will refuse to come back if they didn't build the culture into them. I read of a woman doing cleaning job in the LSE who was accused of stealing a bracelet today, which she actually didn't steal but gave them back after they asked if she saw it and she said yes. She was sacked. This woman is 72 years old for God's sake. What's she still doing there at 72? She entered UK early 70s. Igbos won't do that. They'd rather be visiting at that age. We need to have a rethink. We welcome strangers but we don't learn from them. An ibo man would come to our land with a pair of tros, learn trading and by the time he's done, he opened a small shop sleep and cook there. We say we're going to omo ibo shop to buy this and that. Omo ibo will open 2nd shop and put his brother there, then rent a room apartment. As business grows, he occupies a flat and welcomes his brothers. Before you know it, he'll approach the landlord and ask him to sell the property to him. He'll offer an attractive sum and the landlord will sell it to him. Before you know it, omo ibo has pulled it down and erected a hotel or a warehouse or a shopping complex there , build his own house, etc. While all these were happening, the landlord couldn't release one of his children to learn same trade omo ibo is doing. He thinks there's no money there or a waste of time. They'd now be threatening them for occopying their land. No be God go punish such people? Awon ole, ọlę gbogbo. We don't help each other, afi oyinbo bi opęęre. Where are you from, who's your father, what does he do, which state are you from...even when you're speaking yoruba, he's responding in English cos he doesn't want to help you. Once an ibo man says keedu to his brother, that's all. My head of technical department is ibo and we travel.the world together, very honest and hardworking. I also have fellow yorubas in the team. It's high time we began to learn from each other. They may not know book, but they know business and how to make it legit. They now go to school too 9 Likes 2 Shares |
