The banker got I'll on friday. . Corona virus doesn't kill in 2 days...

Most of those deaths in Kano can't be covid 19 because it doesn't kill suddenly, it usually takes up to at least 7 days after showing systoms. .

Even Malaria has killed up to 29 persons in Nigeria since we began locked down.

I don't believe this desease can thrive in Africa like it does in the west.

Your belief doesn’t matter.

Hello everyone - I'm not quite sure whether this is the right section to post this. Anyways, I currently hold a Master's degree and I also recently gained ission into a PhD program in a UK university but with no funding from the school and the estimated total cost of the tuition and living expenses amount to about #16 million for the 3 years.
So, I decided to come seek the opinion of folks here with better experience if it really worth spending this amount in the long run or should I rather invest this amount?
Thank you in advance!

I am very doubtful 16m will fund your tuition and living cost in the UK for 3 years.

The average cost for a Masters tuition and living expenses is around 12m....

I think you should do your calculations well before taking that step.

By the way - having a PhD is a personal decision. If you haven’t got loads of experience working in your industry, and you do not plan to be an Academic, I am afraid your PhD will make a little difference to your remuneration.

You will technically be overqualified.

Really a sad news

This doesn’t look like an Email.

This is a Marketing Gimmick.

The wordings doesn’t appear to be addressed to Staff. It appears to be addressed to the general public.

Do you write an email to the general public? This is a Letter to the general public!

It’s either the OP got it wrong and made a honest mistake or the OP made a deliberate mistake to stylishly market their products to the public.

Modify:

Haven gone through a separate publication on their Twitter handle: I confirm some of their employees and sales agents were laid off. That’s too bad - especially in difficult times like this. I guess they discovered they cant keep up with salaries for the foreseeable couple of months.

It is well.

But Nigerian roadd/streets are not as bad though.

It’s obvious you haven’t been to Abuja.

Abuja has one of the best road networks in Nigeria.

It’s well connected, clean and well lit.

Do you know why? They made the smart decision of sending the Poor citizens to the outskirts of the Territory.

Tbh Poverty is a bastard.

The whiteman doesn’t know Poverty is the problem here. How will most of these folks feed their families if they stay indoor and don’t go out to find a livelihood.

You either by hunger or by the virus. I just hope it doesn’t get worst.

I am sorry, this post is quite myopic.

I studied in one of elite universities in the UK - I guess it means I am still a Jambite.

Better pray against the spirit of poverty so you can send your children to good but expensive schools like Covenant University.

As far as I am concerned, apart from

University of Lagos, OAU and UI, I don’t see any other University as good as Covenant University in Nigeria.

I have picked those three because of exposure to modern realities- not because they are fantastic than the rest you listed.

You have to stress that no guy should lay a hand on women by writing it in capital letter and you couldn't do same with no woman should lay hand on a man. I call it double standard from you.

I agree with you on the above 100%.

I don't know what you mean by a woman beater. Is there anything like man beater also?

Yes, it’s in CAPS because a man is more likely to beat a woman that it is for a woman to beat man.

Thanks for concurring.

And Yes, in my short experience - I have seen a family where the woman constantly bully the man. Such a woman is a man beater smiley

Hmmmm... If by any chance you missed GA and you didn't secure a scholarship for overseas studies, then your chances are as good as anyone else.

That’s not entirely true.

@OP... having a First Class is awesome, but you mustn’t have a sense of entitlement.

There are lots of factors that come to play here.

1. Your course of study. So for instance if you had a first class in Law, you will most certainly get a Job (although, if you also make a First Class in the Law School your chances are higher).

The only problem is that you might not get the best paying jobs - because the best Nigerian law firms take a 2:1 - so the competition is fierce.

2. Many of the top paying jobs use Online Psychometric tests and Assessment Centres. This creates a level playing field for everyone - and sometimes you would discover those with First Class are unable to these tests.

In other words, your ability to those tests has nothing to do with your First Class Grade.

3. Many jobs as well come with connections and seizing opportunities. You will agree with me this has little to do with your grades and has more to do with who you know and how you exploit the relationships.

Truth is that - a First Class student may find it more difficult to get a job if he doesn’t enter the Street and maximise his opportunities.

Overall, the above is inexhausitve. It largely depends on the individual. Like I always say, LIfe is a personal journey. We have seen third class students do amazing things. The world doesn’t revolve around grades.

What your First Class does is increase your chances of getting an interview or an assessment. I leave you with the golden words of a Nairanlander below:

The video didn't explain anything. I beleive that no sensible guy will start beating any lady because she is pregnant for him.

I think (my opinion though) that the girl in question is a free giver or what we like to call kezia trying to pin the pregnancy to this particular guy. The guy knowing full well that he was not the only one that ate from the kpekus decided to beat her back to her senses. If that is the case, they are both wrong.

NO GUY SHOULD LAY A HAND ON A WOMAN, regardless of her offence.

And

No woman should lay a hand on a man too.

Btw: watch yourself closely. You seem to be a woman beater.

It's just an assumption naw haba

I won’t engage in religious arguments with you. No one can defend God.

The most important things for you to note is that there are;

Natural disasters; and
Human caused disasters.

And in this instance, this appears, clearly, to be man made. God may be aware of all these things - but it doesn’t mean he is responsible for them. You can be in the class when your class mate was stealing - but it doesn’t mean you stole the item.

You folks should know the difference and stop attributing everything to God.

You may be right though, but scientists always try to provide factual proofs even though not 100% and some Bible stories require 'deep thinking' as all may not have been 100% true or translated 100% without some modifications or human errors

I disagree.

The bible contains human errors - distortions in storyline here and there.

But there is hardly anything scientific about fossil records of Dinosaurs. How likely is it that a footprint from 170 million years old is still visible and glaring today?

When even the machines they use in certifying the age of Players for the FIFA Under 17 and 20 games can’t detect that an average Nigerian Player is in his late 20’s - how could it accurately tell the age of a footprint.

I do not dispute that the dinosaurs existed... But you can’t say for a fact how and when.

Nice.

She needs to be encouraged and told the honest truth " no be only school dem take dey make am".

I'm tired of seeing my brothers and sisters do so many years in the school including the strike years, only to come out and decide on learning a trade.

If they had been honestly advised from the cradle, them for don become masters at their chosen trades in all the years they wasted at the universities.

My daughter just buy one gigantic sewing machine now after serving the Nation, say she wan become tailor.

It is well.

It’s not wasted.

I think we make the mistake that Education is simply to get white collar jobs.

Ideally education helps you to be learned.

If anything, your daughter’s education should set her apart from the average street tailor.

True that..But bruh you and I know it only a matter of time before Djokovic beats Roger's 20 Grand slam titles..I'm sure you also know that Djokovic has beaten both Roger and Nadal more than they have beaten him.

The record stands at:
27 wins for The Djoker V 23 wins for Roger
29 wins for The Djoker V 26 wins for Nadal...

If you take apart your love for Roger however justified,You will realize that there is only going to be one GOAT.. And NOVAK DJOKOVIC is his name

this doesn't make him better than Nola, Nola is far better than both him and nadal there h2h speaks for them. unlike football tennis is an individual Sport( to a large extend).

I don’t quite agree with you. All sports are individual sports.

With football for instance, You don’t say someone is GOAT based on his club Nd country records. It’s the individual achievements that matter, with the difference that individual achievements in Football are often tied to club and country successes as well.

what I mean is that - it doesn’t matter that Nov beats Nadal and Federer h2h - the individual achievements are what matter. You can’t make this comparison particularly because Federer was on more than 10 G.S before Djokovic came up.

So there is the age factor. You can only say Nova is better if they both were on their prime and were of the same Age.

People don’t say Federer is better than Pete Sampras or Andre Agassi because he had a better head to head over both. Both players were equally good in their days and when Federer played them - they were well above age.

Federer is considered GOAT because he currently has all the Records - and that might soon change if Djokovic can retain his form for another 2 years.

It's debatable now
Federer have 20, Nasal 19, Djokovic 17. Djokovic will over take them next year.

Djokovic have a better winning ratio than both of them in the ATP tournaments.

Djokovic have a better h2h than against both of them.

When you talk about GOAT.. it’s about records as it applies now - not as it will be in the future.

There is no question of debate here.

To date, Federer has won 103 ATP singles titles including a record 20 Grand Slam singles titles, 28 ATP Masters 1000 titles, and a record 6 ATP Finals. Federer was also a Gold Medalist in men's doubles with Stan Wawrinka at the 2008 Beijing Olympics and a Silver Medalist in men's singles at the 2012 London Olympics.

They are all records that re yet to be broken. When they are - you can subject them to debate on h2h.

The GOAT

Hmmm.

Roger Federer is still the greatest of all time.

1. Roger Federer has the most grand slam wins of all time.
2. He has the most ATP tournament victories of all time.
3. Has the record for the longest weeks as World Number 1.

He is commonly recognized as the greatest play.

Until Djokovic meets and beats those records - he is still further below.

What street game, abeg? Extortion of innocent and hardworking citizens, killing political opponents on behalf of the ruling party, causing chaos and promoting thuggery within the society etc...

Is this what you refer to as street game? Really?

Indeed >90% of Nigerians are mentally deranged!

You are ill-informed.

Let me educate you.

This guy Oluomo is street-smart. Something you don’t understand - and probably don’t have.

Being street smart doesn’t mean you are ‘uneducated’ or ‘unintelligent.’

It means understand places and people and manipulating it to your benefit. It is stripped back, having a basic understanding of the street ‘level.’ Being on the ground. Being in the battle, rather than looking down on it.

now as culled!
It is important -

“...because the street culture has evolved what may be called a code of the streets, which amounts to a set of informal rules governing interpersonal public behavior, including violence.

The rules prescribe both a proper comportment and a proper way to respond if challenged. They regulate the use of violence and so allow those who are inclined to aggression to precipitate violent encounters in an approved way.

The rules have been established and are enforced mainly by the street-oriented, but on the streets the distinction between street and decent is often irrelevant; everybody knows that if the rules are violated, there are penalties.

Knowledge of the code is thus largely defensive; it is literally necessary for operating in public.

Therefore, even though families with a decency orientation are usually opposed to the values of the code, they often reluctantly encourage their children's familiarity with it to enable them to negotiate the inner-city environment”.

I hope you read that last paragraph and wake up from ur slumber!

Your long epistle doesn't make you right.
Using your theory, what name did the yoruba forefathers gave Kangaroo, Panda and Koala?
They never encountered those too.

And you are correct because?

You don’t have to agree with what I say. But don’t come online to talk about correct and incorrect, just say your opinion and move on.

How long have you spent on earth to know who saw tigers or not? Africa is not a Country and it didn’t start in the 19th century.
