I don't think there is any big corporate organization that doesn't do this. However the law protects those who align and those who don't align with this shit.

I have worked in different organizations and they always do this on June. This is why I'm always less excited about the month of June. Those nonsense people have colonized it.

I have never partaked in those programs in all the places I have worked and nobody has asked me why. In fact, they sent out invitations for the event 2 days ago but I will ignore it as usual. A lot of people stay away too not just me.

Some people go because of eye service to show they are accommodating to everybody but I no send anybody papa. I am also accommodating but I won't endorse nonsense with my presence.

So don't worry, you can just ignore them but don't go and start rebuking them or saying things that would be interpreted as hate towards that community. You know they are always forming victim and their fake ers cry more than the berieved .If you are asked, just say it's personal and don't elaborate, it us not by force

Please, My eye service almost ruin my marriage. I took part in a Pride event at my previous work place when l first arrive Canada and there was free drinking ,eating pizza and dancing with face painting with diff rainbow flag and cross dressing involved and I even gave my consent for a photo that was later published on the company’s website as part of pride day celebration just to feel among . To my surprise, my in-laws in Nigeria somehow came across the photo, even though they didn’t know where I worked. It became a serious issue at home with my family.
I’m sharing this because I’ve learned the hard way some decisions, even if they seem small in the moment, can have a lasting impact on your personal life. person need to be carefully about what you allow yourself to be part of, especially in a public or work setting and in my situation it was even optional to attend but l just want to feel among as jjc

URGENT!!!

Hello Everyone, my sister put in her application last year July, we made sure to keep checking her portal almost everyday but later stopped actively checking early feb when there was no movement. They sent her PPR on Feb 19th but there was no do not reply email notification whatsoever even in spam, she just checked her profile yesterday and found the ppr, now it is past the 30days. Please what can she do about it? Who has been in this position before and what did you do ?

She should submit a webform explaining the situation that she didn’t receive any email notification and only just saw the PPR message in her portal. Be polite but clear and request reissuance or reactivation of the PPR.let hope ircc can give positive answer!

I see I’ve triggered some people by saying you need to pursue an in-demand and InFocus program and upgrade your skill set.

Yes, I’m fully aware of the population differences and challenges faced by those coming from other countries.

But my focus is on those who are not planning effectively for themselves or thinking strategically about how to succeed by aligning with an in-demand focus area.

Don’t blame others for your setbacks. I never said it’s easy but I’ve always emphasized that going the extra mile makes a difference.

If you're blaming a lack of connections,
systemic bias, or lack of a professional network,

then frankly, you’re not yet prepared to put in the necessary work. Your current skill set may not align with globally recognized standards.

Let’s be clear: it’s not always "the white man" holding you back. If you’re truly good, you’ll be recognized and selected.

Stop blaming everyone else.

Focus on what you can control enhancing your skill set and actively building your professional network.

Thank you for sharing your perspective it’s appreciated. But let’s start by being honest about the current employment situation in Canada. Jobs are scarce, and even well-qualified newcomers are struggling. In fact, the example of your cousin who had to fabricate work experience just to land a job proves how difficult it really is.
While your advice about upgrading skills and pursuing in demand programs is valid, the tone of your message leans too heavily on victim-blaming. Many newcomers arrive based on the illusion of a labour shortage, only to face systemic barriers, underemployment, and exploitation.
Yes, people should take responsibility and plan better, but that doesn’t mean dismissing the real challenges others face. Just because a few manage to break through doesn’t mean the system isn’t broken for the rest. Let’s encourage strategic planning without undermining the efforts and frustrations of those still finding their footing.thank you

Please I am almost fone with fine tuning my junior brother in law's application and have a few more questions.

* How do I with IOM for his medicals. Does he just show up at their office? Where is the office (Ikeja one?) and what documents should he take there?
* Also, Is there a way he can submit the application without medicals at the beginning. I wonder why the application is asking it for him from the beginning but for some others here, I can see it was requested as the application progressed. Did I select something wrong at filling the forms?
* How do I process his Police character certificate? I hear it's different now and no more middle man. Is this true? What's the website and how long does it take?

Go on iom website to book appointment if you want to do upfront medical but it not compulsory to do upfront medical test!

https://mymedical.iom.int/apps/omas/#_frmHome

And police character cert is not needed for student application!

Well said. It was surprising seeing that quote. It's like Andy Carroll criticised C. Ronaldo.
I've noticed there is a telling lack of understanding of British politics here. They are the kings of double-speak aka British diplomacy. When a British politician says something, you dont jump at it. You first take a step back and rumminate over why they said that.

I dont speak to defend politicians but Carneys profile is brilliant. Whether he would make a good PM is to be seen.

That double standard statement, but Mr. Carney may seem brilliant to you, but it may not reflect the facts of the matter. It’s probably your personal opinion, not the opinion of the majority

Good morning everyone, hope this message meet everyone of you well. Please I'm here to seek everyone's sincere opinion and advice most especially the professional ones in this group. Me and my wife are considering to migrate to Canada even though I have been researching on the easiest paths we can explore to make the process seamless in of time and financial affordability but I consider it necessary to come here to seek more opinion and advice to make us make informed decision. Please below is our profile:
Husband:
Educational background: BSc psychology (2.2)
Age: 42 Work Experience: Business/trader no formal work experience before
Wife:
Educational background: BSc Sociology (2.1), MSW Health Social Work
Age: 38, work Experience: Medical Social work (Volunteer) Both in Hospital and mental health services
Presently working with state government as a teacher, guidance and counselor with 3 years experience.
So my questions are as follows
1) Between educational qualification and work experience which is best eligible for PNPs or have higher chances? The reason is that, my wife is going to be main applicant and if that is the case, she doesn't want to get ed with Social work regulatory body before migration, (we believe the process is cumbersome and most times Nigeria social work standard not fully recognize in Canada, so additional training may be required). And most importantly, each provinces have their seperate regulations. Or is it possible we start process without Social work registration? Please we will need more insight and help to enable us navigate the process.
2) which other ways or path ways we can explore that will simplify our process?
Thank you so much for your anticipated assistance.

Your graduating grade of 2.1 or 2.2 is not important in Express Entry. With your wife’s level of education and work experience, social work registration in Nigeria is not important in Canada and is not required for Express Entry. The main challenge now is the age factor for your family. At 38 years, the best approach would be to aim for a good score in IELTS and make a strong effort to learn French and the French exam (TCF or TEF). It is often a misconception that PNPs are an easy route to Canada if your age is high or your CRS score is low. Please understand that they are not, as many applicants are also hoping for PNPs, and the required score or criteria may be high. I’m not saying it’s impossible, but given your age factor, the French pathway remains the best option.

Thank you for responding @affoncad. I have 7months experience as a cook in Canada (I am on a WP) and I want to use the rest of my experience from running a restaurant in Nigeria. Is there a sample draft I can use for my reference?

This sample reference letter for IRCC is based on your job. Also, try to add your Canadian payslip and merge everything together, then it in the job reference letter section. They may likely request(ADR) for employment contract and statement of your later showing salary payments, as it will be hard to claim cash payments inside Canada.

The PM is still maintaining temporary cap on immigration but focused on transiting temporary residents already in Canada over the years before the growth to permanent residents.

My only fear is that many students don't see the bigger issue ahead. With the current projections, more than half of the current temporary residents already inside Canada which include student will not be able to get PR. So, a smart student needs to position themselves in a good advantage, which may include learning French to have an edge.

The problem with canada is that the country has low birth rate while birth rate has no significant increase against death rate..
In 2023/2024 according to statistics canada number of birth was 359,885− number of deaths was 344,593=15,292 natural growth..
As you can see if you deduct birth rate from death rate = only 15,292 natural population growth, the rest of the population growth is ⛽️ fuelled by pumping foreigners into the country, until the system solves its low birth rate, they will need more immigrants in years to come for economic growth and expansion.

The birth rate arugment cannot be table before canadian voters and no party will raise that in an election year as Many Canadians are frustrated with rising unemployment, even newcomers struggling to find professional work, along with high housing costs, the cost of living, and overcrowded schools and daycares, with little development to the growing population. Many believe these issues stem from uncontrolled immigration. There's also concern that colleges may lose funding or even close due to low enrollment from international students. However, many argue that education should not rely solely on funds from foreign students, as this adds strain to already stressed social services.

Good morning, everyone. Please, I need help with tips on how to apply for Trade Skill/EE. My NOC is 63200. Any updated sample reference letter and guidance from anyone who has gotten ITA using this code or any trade skill will be greatly appreciated. I have celpip and wes. Thank you very much. God bless you all.

That NOC is for cooks. How do you become a cook at a restaurant in Nigeria? Do you go for any training or,education related to ur job , or do you learn the skill on the job? To get an ITA in a trade draw, you just need to be in the Express Entry pool. When a trade draw occurs, you can be invited based on your CRS score. However, you will need to prove to IRCC how you acquired the skill to be a cook. You will also need a letter of reference stating your job duties, salary, and when you were hired, along with your pay slips

Apart from the mandatory documents for self-employment, such as Business Registration Certificates, Tax documents, etc did you add reference letters from your clients/business partners, ID cards, invoices/receipts of goods and services provided, bank statements that shows proof of business with your clients etc..? The latter are not listed as required documents on the IRCC website but they go a long way in solidifying your business and convincing the VO. Just in case you are wondering, I am also a self-employed applicant, also CEC candidate and I submitted everything I could lay my hands on to prove my business. BTW, most of the things listed in the previous replies are not the issues because your CEC eligibility is not based on your self-employed work experience i.e. your self-employed experience was not acquired in Canada.

So far, any activity listed in your personal or work history in your Express Entry application can still prompt IRCC to request documentation. You must provide it or detailed explanation , or your application may be rejected. For example, an applicant who was an in-land was asked to provide proof of funds. He tried to quote a section of the law for an exemption from the proof of funds requirement, but the visa officer rejected the application. This process can sometimes be complicated, so it’s best to have your documentation ready to your application

My GCMS note came in this afternoon and I have been refused since last year sept 26 and my agent had been hiding this. But then please who can explain what’s written on this two pages for me please 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾 And I see that one page had a date created by year 2017 🤷🏽‍♂️🤷🏽‍♂️🤷🏽‍♂️ I have never put in for Canada application until last year feb. Thanks

Based on the details in the GCMS notes, your application was refused due to "misrepresentation", as per paragraph 40(1)(a) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA). This makes you "inissible to Canada for five years from the date of the refusal letter till after September 2029" .l guess You gave your application to an agent who has been flagged by IRCC for using the same pattern of documents and payment cards for many applicants. The application was sent a procedural fairness letter asking you to explain why you did not disclose that you used an agent for your application but the letter was ignored . As per the 2017 date on the gcms note , do not worry about the date—it's the same for most refusals, and it is not about your application date.

No, I do not have travel history.

If you sample 50 Nigerian asylum seekers who entered Canada on conference visas, you’ll find that at least 45 had no previous travel experience. This is a concern because people with no travel history are more likely to seek asylum. Today, data provides useful insights, which IRCC also uses to make decisions. So, if you have no travel history and purpose of visit is just tourism or conference , you’ll need stronger proof and clear evidence to get a Canada visit visa, especially if you don’t have family in Canada

You will need to provide bank statements for the last 6 months showing in and out flow of transction with no lump sum( or with detailed explanation) , income tax returns (if applicable), payslips or proof of employment, a sponsorship letter (if sponsored), an affidavit of financial (if applicable), business registration and financial records (if self-employed), property or asset documents, evidence of invoice or contract or sales, and a tuition payment receipt of or proof of partial payment of atleast 1 semester ...see attached news so people know why ircc is more strict now and tighting visa rules..many student got visa and never attend school.

Thank you so much for your response.

Yes, the LOI is from the Rotary International Convention. A generic LOI was issued to all participants by the organisation with a special code generated by the IRCC, which was added during the application. Meanwhile, the LOI does not state or indicate the role of the participants, as pointed out by the VO. However, my introduction/ explanation letter clearly stated my roles and why I wanted to attend the Convention.

My financial situation is very okay. I have a permanent job. I am the marketing manager receiving a monthly salary of over N1,250,000 and N135,000 as imprest. I have been working with my company since 2014. All documents relating to my employment, including job offer letter, introduction letter, board resolution letter, two promotion letters, leave letter, work ID, Salary payslips, tax receipt, and six-month bank statement showing my monthly salary, with a closing balance of over 58,000,000. I even added the company's CAC registration documents.

Submitted my marriage certificate, birth certificates for four of my kids, my birth certificate, wife's birth certificate, my NIN children's NIN, and my wife's NIN.

Two landed property documents worth over 25,000,000.

Two House property documents worth over 80,000,000

The above are part of my socio-economic ties, which are strong enough to the best of my knowledge.

Have you attended a program like this abroad or do you have any travel history? It can make a difference in situations like this. I can tell you that many people, including those claiming asylum, have obtained visas through similar conferences, even with more extensive documentation and proof of funds. This is particularly important now, as Nigeria has been categorized as one of the source countries for visa abuse to Canada, which is impacting other applicants.

Kindly assist with interpretation!

The visa application was refused due to several reasons. Firstly, the Letter of Invitation (LOI) was deemed vague, and the visa officer wasn't convinced that the applicant's role aligned with the event's objective.Additionally, the officer had concerns about the applicant's financial situation and weak ties to Nigeria, which raised doubts about their intention to leave Canada after their stay, also some event organizer notify ircc about their event and are issued special ircc event code but the special event code that the organizer stated on the invitation letter issued to this particular applicant that you input in your application as ircc event registration code as not been activated in the ircc database .
In the case of conference visas, the Canadian government has increased scrutiny due to instances of individuals including Nigerians using conferences as a means to seek asylum. As a result, visa officers carefully examine applications to ensure the applicant's connection to the conference is genuine and beneficial to their business or profession.Paying a non-refundable fee to attend a conference doesn't guarantee a visa. Instead, the applicant must demonstrate their intention to return to their home country, providing evidence of strong ties, financial stability, and a clear business purpose for attending the conference.

Greetings fellow Nairalanders,
I submitted my wife’s Visitor’s Visa application in August and it's still pending and even a December application has received PPR in February. I requested GCMS not and here is the last note on it. Please any advice what could be the issue as she’s suppose to go with me on a conference and visit my kid sis. I’m a frequent traveler to canada.

The note indicates that the intial visa officer found the applicant’s case convincing based on financial resources, ties to their home country, and the purpose of the visit. The visa was approved. However, the "Entered in Error" label might be an internal istrative detail which calls for review of the application. Restricted: N – The note is not restricted, meaning it's accessible and waiting for review by another senior experienced officer.

Canada is hard, Canada is hard..., some people are finding their way quietly. I know someone on this thread that just bought his second house. He landed in the time that some of you all started posting about the hustle in the job market.

Go read this lady's diary (@geekybabe) in the nairaland diary section, she gave perfect description of what the job market is from a personal experience. She landed a job in the end.

Back at home, Nigerians buy jobs and buy their way through most things. Now I'm wondering how do some of them navigate through in the environment this competitive.

You guys should stop making a mockery of the thousands currently struggling in Canada, especially new arrivals, when it comes to jobs. Sharing just one or two examples while forgetting about the thousands who are struggling to find jobs, feeling depressed, and frustrated. The economy is facing a huge problem. Canada is bringing in a massive number of immigrants, but job creation is too low to meet the supply demand of the record high numbers arriving. With Trump’s 25% tariff hike to start today, Canada will likely face another round of layoffs in some industries . So, please, let’s be honest about the job market in Canada. People also bribe to get jobs sometimes in canada; it’s not a perfect society. Let’s call a spade a spade. Having a second house doesn’t mean the economy is doing well or it easy; there are many fraudulent ways to get a second nd third mortgage nd that what majority do to secure thoes loan to purchase thoes houses. If people are not telling you the truth, it’s important to be aware.

Let’s pray for Canada, as economically, things are not heading in the right direction. GOD Help us all!

Anyone who is familiar with Nigerian immigration should kindly help.
My baby used a visa on arrival to enter Nigeria around a year ago and he was given 30days on the visa to stay in Nigeria, or I could apply for his Nigerian port on time whilst still around.
The issue is that, I haven't applied. This is due to name changes I still want to do once I return back to Canada. I don't want his Nigerian port to carry the current name he has on his Canadian port and I don't want to go through the stress of changing his name on NIN, Nigerian port etc in Ottawa when we finally go back.

Will I have issues traveling back with him to Canada, considering he has overstayed his visa?

Since your baby does not have a Nigerian port and is currently overstaying in Nigeria due to an expired Nigerian visa on the Canadian port, just explain the situation at the airport upon departure, especially regarding your intention for a name change. Also, keep some Naira with you, as I doubt they will let you leave without paying a fee

Someone should assist me on how to tackle this refuse note....

The decision states that the spouse/mother did not qualify for a visa, meaning the applicant no longer had a valid reason to visit. As a result, one cannot visit or accompany someone who has not been approved for a visa since that main reason for the visit.

But on a 2nd note, CDS is on diplomatic port and it was rumoured that the officer doing the application made error.

They should not be refused based on their status. You are talking about the number 1 ranked military officer in Nigeria.

A diplomatic port does not automatically guarantee visa approval. While it may offer certain privileges in some countries, it does not exempt the holder from visa requirements. Each country has its own regulations, and the visa process often involves thorough checks, even for diplomatic port holders. Additionally, some Nigerian asylum applicants provide documents claiming to have served in the navy or army to obtain a visa. As a result, Canada is extra careful with visa issuance for Nigerians, as they are among the top asylum claimants in the country.

It is well.

I am in a similar situation. Applied for my dad and sister, with a letter of explanation stating that we are sponsoring her trip so that she can accompany her dad for as it is a long trip and for someone who has not travelled before and not that educated, navigating immigration, connecting flights etc will likely be a challenge. They will only be here for about a month. She has absolutely no desire to stay back, her husband is in Nigeria, she has a job and is also schooling to further her education at home. All of these were included in the application.

They approved my dad's and rejected hers on the basis of employment stability and purpose of visit. She is a nursing officer, letter of employment was provided.

It is just unfortunate how people do not consider the impact of their actions on others, all of these denials are from the whole asylum issue, people misusing the visa.

I intend to re-apply for her and add another purpose of visit with an explanation, we actually need her to help stay with the kids because my wife and I are going for Hajj, my dad coming with her was an opportunity for him to come over too, to kill 2 birds with one stone. I omitted this from the initial application because we had not secured our Hajj slots and I wanted to avoid issues in case they asked for additional documents like evidence.

I reckon it is worth another try, will attach proof of our planned trip. Hajj has a fixed time so we need to try again ASAP and hope that she gets it this time. I am not sure how to address the employment bit though, not sure what else they need.

Any thoughts?

Don't mention any childcare duties as a reason for a visitor visa because that is considered a job, and visitors are not allowed to work. She can come to visit, but not for childcare duties as the basis for applying for a visitor visa.
