Fierce gun battle has been reported in Aba, the commercial nerve center of Abia State, South-East Nigeria, between some Nigerian Military personnel, and persons under the auspices of the Indigenous People ofBiafra (IPOB).

The source claimed that social and commercial activities, especially in and around Aba/Port-Harcourt Road, has been paralysed. He could not however say, whether there was casualty.

None of the security agencies in the state was willing to comment on the development. But local Police source, said heavy gun battle rocks Aba, since 4am Monday morning.

Report have it that the 144 Asa-ngwa army base barrack in Aba has deployed is soldiers from the base to disturb IPOB peaceful protest.
Meanwhile 7 toyota Hilux van of soldier were seen in National High SchoolAba were IPOBs usually gathered befor going out for their protest..
According to sources on ground who heard some of the untrained soldiers speak said.. "what nonsense protest is that.? This school cannot be usefor biafra again, not today or any other day. Biafra is dead so you people must leave here at once."
however the fearless Biafrans who were on ground continued their war chanting songs as most of them openly refered to the soldiers as baboons and monkeys without fear in their heart (liver).

TV personality, Denrele Edun fell and fainted on set of the new movie, Pepper Soup. The actor was to act a scene, where he will fall and faint but it turned to an accident as he hit his forehead on a sharp object, got seriously injured and ed out. He narrated the ordeal below…

I travelled from Enugu to the High Court, Onitsha, this morning to handle a high profile kidnap case which I am Prosecuting with the Fiat of the Attorney-General of Anambra State. It took me 2 hours 46 minutes to navigate through the erosion - devastated road plying through the four corner end leading to Oji River and veering into the 'express' at the Amansea by. Entering into the capital city, I ed through 3 flyovers under construction between the Aroma junction and the Amansea junction under a distance of less than a kilometer. A desirable but misplaced priority development infrastructure. From Awkuzu Junction through Umunya to Ogbunike/Nkwelle Ezunaka junction, it was a ding dong affair as our vehicle was engaged in the dance of Atilògwù galloping into and over chains of gullies, pot holes and pits as we had to hold firmly unto the handrails for stability lest we knock our heads on the door frames or glasses. It was indeed a sour journey.
By the time i got to the court premises, i was already tired and worn out with my ts paining. When I eventually got into the court, it was already 10am! The court had called up the case, but in judicious exercise of judicial function, stood it down for 11am, in spite application from the accused counsel to strike out the case. The court took judicial notice of my attitude as a stickler to time and punctuality.
My worry now is how to set back on that road to the Federal High Court, Enugu, tomorrow. And this brings me to the fundamental question of our collective predicament under the current regime of inept representation at both the state and national assembly, and decadent leadership of the Igbo race.
A proactive leadership and representation would have by now originated an action plan towards engaging both the state and federal government towards effecting the much needed rehabilitation of that expressway. But no! What our leaders and representatives are more concerned with is the greasing, or is it lining of their pockets, and cornering all government contracts for their personal aggrandisement and enrichment neglecting their primary responsibility to the society. I am crying out to the public and to all Facebook patrons to give voice to this sad situation and use ll forms of civil approach to get to our leaders and representatives to take immediate steps to see to the rehabilitation of this 'express' road before it is too late. In less than 3 months from now the rains will visit. If nothing is done now, I am afraid, by may this year, we may not have any road to travel on from Onitsha to Enugu and vice versa. And please do not remind me of the old road. In the next 2 months, the old road will also be a death trap and you know why: all heavy duty trucks, trailers and lorries, all buses and what have you now make use of that old road. Thanks to PDP. Thanks to Jonathan. Thanks to inept leadership and representation. Thanks to docile followership and citizenry.

The family of late Biafran warlord, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, has denied that a suspected drug trafficker, Ijeoma Ojukwu, who was recently arrested by officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, is a niece of the deceased.

Ijeoma was arrested alongside four others by the NDLEA at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport (MMIA), Ikeja, Lagos, for being in possession of 2.24kg of cocaine.


Others are – Ali Bala Adamu, Uche Igwelo, Egbuche Fidelis Osita and a staff of the NDLEA, Victor Umeh.

The suspect, who is a mother of two and runs a restaurant in Brazil, is believed to be a member of an international drug trafficking ring.

A statement issued on Thursday by a brother to the late Ikemba Nnewi, Lotanna Ojukwu, disowned Ijeoma Ojukwu as a member of the family.

“We wish to inform you that the woman arrested by NDLEA for importing cocaine into Nigeria, whose photograph has appeared in some publications, named Ijeoma Ojukwu, is not in any way related to my brother – Chief Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu.

“Our family therefore demands that you stop referring to her as Ikemba’s niece. Thank you for your cooperation”, the statement read.

The Islamic Movement of Nigeria says more than 700 men and women are still missing nearly a month after its and soldiers clashed in Zaria, Kaduna State.

The Shi’ite Muslim group, which is led by Sheik Ibrahim el-Zakzaky, said it suspected that those missing were either killed or were in detention.

The spokesperson for the IMN, Ibrahim Musa, said in a statement that it was unfortunate that the Federal Government had not taken the matter seriously.

He said, “According to our list there are about 730 men and women, who are still missing, since Saturday December 12, 2015.

“These missing people were either killed by the army or are in detention but their whereabouts are still unknown and undisclosed.”

Musa added that about 220 IMN were in Kaduna prison, while others were reportedly in military custody in Kaduna, Bauchi and Abuja.

It will be recalled that scores of Shi’ite Muslims, who were on a religious procession, were killed after they blocked the convoy of the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai.

The sold out movie premiere had lots of offers – an opening of a highly interactive red carpet and a live screening of the comedy movie.
The thrilled spectators, reeled with laughter from the start to the finish and gave the movie maker and team, a standing ovation at the end of the live screening.
The appreciation was totally overwhelming.

The second premiere of the hilarious movie will hold today – Sunday, the 10th of January 2016 at Ibom Tropicana entertainment center, Udo Udoma Avenue, Uyo Awka-ibom state.
