I done see as you team up with other southerners before, are you even a southerner?

I was waiting to see if Oyo state will ne listed.

After several meetings at the CBN office. Then at the Bank of Agtic. Followed by a meeting with FMN as the sole off taker, all ended up as nothing.

Emefiele was indeed a Mu raise to power two.

Southern farmers were deliberately frustrated.

That era was a total disaster in governance. They blocked every other person from accessing the loan and asked others to go and do it online . Really nepotic .. imagine Kaduna whose southern Kaduna farmers couldn't go to farm during that era topping the chat

Take RIFAN for example. It did not exist until 2017 while AFAN that had existed since 2002 barely got a Kobo
RIFAN was APC zombies masquerading as rice Farmers

By 2023, the figure was well over N1 trillion . That's $3 billion sent to Dubai to buy properties by my northern brothers.

And some Pandora boys will be wailing here.....

Thats N549.5B in for the top ten alone.
Add like N200B for Hajj.
And like 2T for defence.

These people own Nigeria.

I like to see what was paid back since it is a borrower scheme. I am guessing this is a reply to comment about Tinubu impoverishment of the north. Same tactic pre-2015.

I have never been a Buhari's fan, but the truth is that northern states have more farmers than any other states in Nigeria. So, those states truly deserve it.
How much do they pay back?
Why collect loans every year when profit is stable and market is always there?
Don't southerners too farm or are interested in capital-intensive farming practices like greenhouses, aquaponics, hydroponics etc ?
What about agro processing loans for the south too seeing that cocoa as a flavour is responaible for powering of over $100B global candy market alone?

This scheme has long metamorphed into another south to north wealth/resources transfer conduit if one must be honest here. They have land and make profit year in year out so why borrow a constant amount year-on-year basis without growing the cumulative output significantly? Think about that. There is huge leakage somewhere. Lol.

If it must be done well, let there be an industry or sme borrower scheme too for the south that caters for southerners and whatever business they are engaged in. Imagine a loan to help chinedu start building solar s,furnitures, household plastics, car parts, machinery, medicaL supplies, farm kits, school inputs(books, pen, pencils, socks), building materials, lithium battteries, electrical components, cups plates, hangers, clips, spoons, pots, toasters, ovens, freezers, curtains, carpets, rugs and more.

Because they have no farm anywhere they are political farmers.

You didn't understand me. I was referring to what Biodun said that some people were intentionally hoarding the food after government has assisted them. Hoarding of food in order to make life difficult for people

Chai! North run us street that year.

I get one junior staff in Kaduna in 2017 wey never plant one seed of maize in life but she collected N1.5m and returned 300k to those in charge of that scheme. Na so dem dey do am for North o. They were just submitting online numbers and they would get credit alert.
We that suffered to fill the form online got nothing. An area brother in Abuja collected twice. He was dating a girl at NIRSAL then.

I heard that Buhari told them to concentrate more on Northern people then.

Did Jonathan get any northern vote at all? If yes, why should all south western votes go towards Jonathan?
If the SW betrayed GEJ, why was 2011 voting pattern similar to 2015 pattern in SW?

You think you can bully a whole region into voting your messiah and haave remained bitter ever since he was dumped. Lol.

I reading in Punch newspaper that a lot of the Katsina rice farmers were unpatriotic and were exporting the locally grown rice (achieved with funds got from the Anchor Borrowers Program loans in Nigeria) to Niger Republic thereby contributing to the scarcity of rice under the Buhari Government. The major news outlets such as Punch reported this unpatriotic act of farmers from Buhari's adoped home state of Katsina.

So, it's very CLEAR that the people and a large number of the highly ignorant masses that accuse the governments of not doing anything are FAR WORSE than the politicians and technocrats in government because these people relentlessly sabotage the Nigerian economy and this is where laws have to be implemented to the letter to deal with these subsets of saboteurs who hoard food commodities and sell at a higher price of 60 to 100% ONLY to blame government for high costs of items.

No MB state there. Kwara, Kogi, Nasarawa, Plateau, Benue, Taraba. None made the top 10. Woooooooww

When will broda Yekini wake up and assist cocoa or coffee farmers or southerners expand their fields?
Niger State is a prominent Middle Belt state and is number 2 on that list of the Anchor Borrowers Program beneficiaries that was attached by the OP @Biodun.

Second, it costs far MORE money to CLEAR the thicker forests in the South of Nigeria than in the North of Nigeria
where you have more Sahelian vegetation and more dry season farming.

Oyo State has the largest landmass of all the States in Southern Nigeria followed by Cross Rivers State in the second position, therefore it's important for the Tinubu Presidency to actively encourage the clearing of more lands in the Southern States so that more hybrid cocoa, cashew, coffee, oil palm, plantain, yams, etc, can be grown in addition to the use of hydrophonics, aquaponics and greenhouse farming. Hybrid cows can also be imported and crossbred with local cows to yield more milk and meat like Ekiti State is doing and WAMCO has fresh milk collection facilities from cow owners in Oyo State.

Lagos State is currently building the largest in Africa, Agricultural Central Logistics Hub in Epe with the plan to drastically drop the cost of foods in Lagos State by 50% as revealed in May 2025 by the female Commissioner of Agriculture for Lagos State (Ms. Olusanya). Currently 25% food price reduction has been achieved from the Idi-Oro Mushin Mini Agric Hub. So, folks in the South of Nigeria and especially the West of Nigeria MUST NOT continue to depend on the far North of Nigeria for food supplies. That'll amount to perpetual enslavement! The start of the long-expected Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway by a Southern President is a blessing because Presidents from other regions kept on postponing the construction since it was proposed originally in the Shagari Presidency of 1979 to 1984.

Therefore, Tinubu MUST ensure that more funds are pumped into making the ecosystem of the South of Nigeria more agriculturally sustainable.

You tried small but the gap is glaring.
Clearing of forest is a small issue if at all is a valid reason for neglect.

Lagos Calabar road project cannot be justified in anyway. The map clearly shows it wont present any special advantage to the south. It is only coastal in Lagos, runs through mostly forests that dont connect major coastal towns, inflated in cost(see cairo-cape town), has inflated rent cost via cement connection. Will be tolled, likely insecure because coastal waters is a good getaway means for criminals.

The disbursements of Agric loans have to be monitored and made a level-playing field affair from here on out.

All parts of Nigeria have agricultural potentials with the growing annual populationd and it's highly irresponsible that indigenous Southern Kaduna farmers who came under relentless attacks by foreign Fula bandits under the watch of that former Governor Nasir El-Rufai (who bluntly told a Channels Television crew that his Fulani ancestor migrated to Nigeria from Guinea Conakry after the Fula jihad) could NOT farm easily but Kaduna still was in the top 10 of beneficiaries of the loans.

This current Tinubu Presidency must immediately remedy the situation and make future funds disbursements to genuine farmers are digitally and transparently done. That would endear him to more folks in Nigeria just like I heard and saw a video stating that commercial farmers in the violence-prone Birnin Gwari have since gone back and are making billions of Naira from growing and harvesting several bags of crops.
