I was asking myself the other day ,you hear that people has been kidnapped and taken into the bush ,2hrs no response team tearing the bush down, what will it cost police in every state to have like 2 to 3 police helicopters,in developed countries, even media outlets own a helicopter, why not states purchase this helicopters for police in each state and have them respond to kidnap cases ,with helicopters is faster and easy to catch a view of the bush from up ,let me assume there is a kidnap in Nsukka and before 20 minutes there are 3 to 4 helicopters combing the area ,do you think this kidnappers would want to risk it ,imagine if helicopters from 3 different states come
For the combing ,they kidnap people cos they always get away with it

Funny how lots of people here are celebrating the fencing idea, yes it's good, but it won't stop insecurity and terrorism.

If you fence the borders, do you also intend fencing the whole country?

If your fence stops in the forest, this criminals will come in where your fence stops, if your fence stops by the river, this criminals can find a way to cross

Technology will solve the problem, track this guys with satellite and drone then blow them off. Not forgetting political will to fight insurgency

The current CDs is thinking like Tinubu.
HE can't even protect his military colleagues killed on a daily basis, even the Terrorists bring the war to the Military Base.

This is like rolling a mosquito infested net against the mosquitos outside.

First of you need to purge and purify the net from mosquito before it can be used for protection.
reminds me of The Conjuring where the cross-yard kept the demon in, instead of repelling

i thought tinubu has equipped the military to deal with threats like boko haram?

what happened to those equipment?

What’s the point of dealing with them when more keep pouring in through the open borders from the Sahel?

The wall will be of great help.

Hope you saw men there guarding and watching over the fence?
You think your Nigerian border protection officers who don't care what is happening at the borders now that they're unfenced will suddenly start monitoring them when they're finally fenced?
You don't know that the fence can be breached or climbed if there are no guards monitoring it?

.
You guys are so gullible!

They are technologies with motion sensors that can be in place with CCTV to monitor it

I would have preferred this to the construction of the coastal road. Deal with insecurity and see how fast the country will develop generally. The amount insecurity is gulping in Nigeria both from individuals and government is much

Both of them are important

grin If terrorists should bridge the fence with bombs at any section, the authorities will immediately be alerted by AI relays.
It will make it difficult for terrorists to move in and out quickly and provide security forces, with ample time to prepare defenses.
Even on the battlefield, you need defensive structures or fortifications like moats, landmines, dragon's teeth etc.
Military masons will build the walls under heavy security. Infact, such wall, is long overdue

which AI?

can you share with me the plan of the AI to be used to alert the authorities when the wall is breached not "bridged"?

will the AI prevent the wall for being breached?

in how many operations are the military presently using AI?

what will be the response time of the authorities to the point of breach?

what is the length of the border between Borno and Cameroon?

how many mason does the military have that they will be able to build a fence of such distance?

are the masons bullet proof or are they not the from the same military that cannot fight boko haram?

if there is "heavy security" to cover masons while building the wall, why has that "heavy security" not dealt with the insecurity once and for all?

Nigeria is finished.

If the terrorists can attack a full military barracks on the regular what use is a wall whether concrete or metal?

What use is an unmanned wall?
Does the army have the men to man the entire stretch of the fence?

Wouldn't it be suicidal to thinly assign 10 men to guard a fence against jihadists looking for targets?

Tinubu should fire this man asap

your brain doesn't work. Keep sounding sensibly stupid. You think Nigeria doesn't know what to do to stop insecurity or what. Where you school sef?
They are about to create an avenue to rob you blind again and settle their political cronies.

If you know the geography of Nigeria you will know there are some places that are natural barriers. Only a slowpoke will try to invade through those areas.

If it solves the problem and Nigeria can afford it why not?
It may very well be our best option. We need peace.

A fence would cost about $2-3bn

The thing is that they'll start with more critical places, I don't think they plan on doing it overnight, but it's all a proposal in the meantime.

To be honest, we must take border security seriously, so fencing isn't a bad idea.

Is there any border area today in Nigeria that's not critical? Name one!
