BORNO, June 2 (AGCNewsNet) – A deadly bomb explosion at a bus stop in Mairari village, Borno State, has claimed the lives of nine civilians, marking a resurgence in Boko Haram attacks across northeastern Nigeria.

The blast occurred on Saturday and was reportedly triggered by improvised explosive devices (IEDs) planted by suspected terrorists who had been monitoring the victims' movements, according to Speaker of the Borno State House of Assembly, Abdulkarim Lawan.

“It is unfortunate that nine of my resilient constituents were killed by planted IEDs while waiting to board vehicles at a local bus stop in Mairari village,” Lawan said, adding that the victims were waiting to return to their destinations when the explosives detonated.
