Reforms: Only Tinubu Could Have Done This - Penguin2 (6272 Views)

Lithiumite: That can work too because an outgoing President can provide all the necessary backing to assist a win for such a candidate. I will however add that Dogara, though not unknown politically, is a technocrats also. Arguable too that he is a "dyed in the wool" politicians because that would suggest he is given to political expediency above doing what is right/required. He has shown he has reformer 'layers' such as when he was the most prominent Northerner to come forward to back the tax reform bills with knowledge and erudition. All demonstrative of the fact he took it upon himself to be thoroughly aware of what the tax reform bill entails and what it seeks achieve. Something virtually all Northern leaders would not contemplatie. 1 Like |

Sometimes people make some of us look like we Ike Tinubu. I don't know him from anywhere. I'm not Yoruba and if anything I'm much closer to the south east in my ancestry. But I'm objective and I put Nigeria first in all things. So by attacking Tinubu unnecessarily, you make defenders out of those of us that should be neutral. This piece above hits the nail on the head. Nigeria will be a much better country for the next ruler. I pray the person is sensible. 2 Likes 2 Shares |

Obaaderemi2: You talk like a clown. Didn't you people know all these when you when complaining of high fuel prices and FX rates in 2012 and 2014? You didn't know ow then that governors should be held able right? You can only f××l yourselves. The masses can see through your forked tongues. That is how you people defended the incompetence of buhari for 8 years and here you are again defending another greedy oaf. 1 Like 1 Share |

[Is stealing commonwealth of this nation through decades of rabid subsidy not a greater reckless decision?]That decision is a reckless decision which is very callous and insensitive Those allegations about not going to school might be true after all, He just make decisions without proper thinking or research He thinks power is by showing you are in charge and can do anything, I am the boss kind of thinking Now see the results
1 Like 1 Share |

ivandragon: Tell me one tenure the masses haven't been suffering..... "The poor will always be amongst you" even the bible says so......tell me one sector in Nigeria that has gone moribund since tinubu came in it doing worse than right now than before......it's easy to point fingers subject to your political views but the fact remains fact......the rot in the Nigerian economy cannot be changed in just 2 years,u need several painstaking years of reforms. |

surgical:You guys would have still criticize him for providing for subsidy when he campaign for it's removal. He removed it when he had the best opportunity. |
Lithiumite: 10:28am On Jun 02 |
WizardOfNG: Politicians would always be what they are.....tinubu knows this and you wouldn't want to entrust a typical Nigerian politician with that much power......Wike borrowed right out of Tinubu's book of politics by going for fubara, that was why he was able to handle him because dude was a political neophyte with no capital even with all the power at his disposal Wike still held him by the jugular...... Tinubu would still want to peddle his influence around that seat and he knows no politician can be trusted...... look at all the govs that came after him in Lagos, they were nobodies that it would take them almost 2 to even learn the ropes to think of subterfuge,he has adequate reinforcements to check any funny ideas......look how sanwo olu is being reined in as we speak,he is already staring right inyo tha barrel of the gun. |

Ofunaofu: The cushion effects should be done by the states and local governments. They are receiving huge amounts of money no President has ever disbursed to them before. Our problem is not Tinubu or subsidy removal but States and Local governments that are not using their allocations for the betterment of the masses. 1 Like |

Your analogy about fuel subsidy is flawed; in Nigeria's case, the child's illness is curable, and while the oxygen (fuel subsidy) was only a temporary to keep the child alive, the parents (government), who had no money at first, were later given enough funds to treat the child. Instead, in an act of wickedness, they conspired with the doctor (corrupt institutions) to divert the money for their selfish gain, even going as far as using a portion of it to keep the child barely alive, just to keep receiving more money under the false pretense of seeking a cure.

asfrank:it still remains the worst decision ever taken, he it's a good decision as yo have said, there would have been evidence that it would improve things even if it has not started, but you are saying what you are saying because you feel Tinubu can do no wrong, you don't have a conviction of your own, it's anything Tinubu says or do Are you aware his speech writers advised and removed subsidy is gone from his speech, by his own ission but he chose to go ahead, it's because those ones where doing things with clear head ,while the president was operating with over sized ego, he was only looking at the revenue side of the equation, which wasn't smart of him |

WizardOfNG: 10:51am On Jun 02 |
GODISGREAT123: Stop making hasty generalisations. I am not one of those guilty of your accusations in the bolded above. I make suggestions and define my stance, uncompromisingly, per what I think is best for Nigeria today. Shown below is what I believe in and tout daily as the holy grail solutions to our problems. Till such is delivered, and as a pragmatic and critical-thinking adult, I will continue to focus on the reality of Nigeria as things are currently, Jncluding commenting on who I believe will be an effective future President If our current reality endure. If you have Pragmatic intellect and wisdom then you'd see the futility of trying to unite a tribalistic, self-hating, religiously divided and sectionally disunited people to make sophisticated decisions when such is innately impossible because of their outlook.

I read this post countless times and couldn't find any sense in it. For God sake subsidies on fuel is the only thing common man on the street enjoys. It was the wrong step to have removed it,instead cut cost of governance by 50%. Reduce foreign travel. Slash salaries of political office should holders. Tackle oil theft. Place a tax on luxury goods. Place a tax on salaries above 500k. |

Don't worry, 8 years will ( He will get 2nd term even if it means by force) and the will start telling us he has laid the foundation and drawn the master plan for prosperity, just like he did in Lagos.

You need to re-educated yourself and remove the hatred inside of you before you can understand exactly what is happening. Even if BAT turns Nigeria into heaven, you still won’t see any good thing about him. ivandragon: |
