Ritual Money: An Urgent Need For Desensitization For Nigerian Youths (196 Views)

Let me say this: there’s an urgent need for desensitization and rehabilitation for the average Nigerian youth. One recurring theme in philosophy and media studies is the concept of the “god of the media.” It s for the influence and manipulative power of the media. It also implies that a people will become what they watch and listen to over time. Every day, this concept proves itself right. At a time, a major way to make money that the media emphasized was through rituals. like ibute Ike became a thing. In those scripts, culprits sometimes faced no consequences. Why? Why? In a world of technological innovation and revolution, industry, agriculture, scientific evolution, art, and literature—in a world of creativity and endless possibilities, the media industry emphasized rituæl as a way to make it in life. Children and young adults consumed these contents without guidance, because even if a movie is rated 18, no one cares. This is the result. Everyone sings the anthem of the brainwashed: school na scam, bute Ike, money, money, money! I have a lot to say, but I am weak. I’ll say this again: there’s an urgent need for desensitization and rehabilitation among young people. I hope government officials will consider this suggestion. It is urgent. Very, very urgent. It is already late. Nigeria, especially southern Nigeria is gone. Soludo started it but it is already late. Gone are the days when integrity and hardwork was the yardstick. Now everyone, I mean everyone is worshipping money, no matter the source. All thanks to APC for weaponizing poverty. People are worshipping money just to see food to eat. Nigeria has been on a downward spiral morally since 2015.

Deep observation i must say. Your suggestion is very imperative. The soludo method should be implemented across the country to quickly deal with this menace. The youths of today no longer value hard work and instradvseek for means of acquiring easy wealth by all means possible. The onus lies on the government. Not just at the federal level, but at all levels including the traditional rulers and citizens of the country. Citizens should report to the authorities in good faith when you observe a neighbor who has no visible means of income spending money lavishly. Of course you will argue about those making money genuinely online, they can easily prove it to the authorities. |

Lol. Get rich quick syndrome. A man who doesnt prioritize production but shortcut economics is in power. For decades, Lagos was overrun by rent-seeking extortionists who, as long as they were loyal to his cause and ambition, were of no concern. Today, we have them springing up all over the country. Bandits, terrorists, islamists, militants, task force, youth, fraternity. It is all the same concept beneath. To reap where they have not sown. To be entitled to some imaginary free roaming money thats available for the strong men. Just look at the calibre of projects being executed at federal and state level. No emphasis on ing production which is the bedrock of any economy. Fruitfulness is now a sign of no connection to a small god anywhere and thus attracts extortionists in uniform. |
