Abdussamad Dasuki is a son of the former Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Ibrahim Dasuki and brother of Colonel Sambo Dasuki (ADC to President Ibrahim Babangida and National Security Adviser in the istration of President Goodluck Jonathan).

He was the Sokoto State Commissioner of Finance in the istration of Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal and he was the member representing Tambuwal East Constituency in the Sokoto State House of Assembly.

He is currently the member representing Kebbe/Tambuwal Constituency in the House of Representatives.

He is a member of the PDP.
