Not only egg, our children don't want to study anymore. They prefer to go on tiktok and be shaking yansh and doing all sorts of rubbish, than to read their books.

It wasn't like this during my time in the late 80's when I sat for my waec.

For your clarification and conclusion, just Google the protein foods and also carbohydrates.

I don't like people who engage in blind argument.

Literally every research agrees that beans has more carbs than protein, I don't really know what you're trying to prove, but I don't have time for that. Bye.

Las Las, all man go dey alright

I do not PBAT or this istration.

However, I refuse to switch off my brain and accept the narrative that the mass failure in JAMB was caused by an increase in the price of eggs, and by extension, this istration.

I believe the causes are a declining interest in tertiary education, student unseriousness, poor teaching, elimination of exam cheating, social media addiction & distraction, and systemic problems that have plagued our education sector for decades.

I will not attribute the inability of 16 year olds and above to JAMB to not being able to eat eggs. The problems existed long before now, and blaming it on eggs is both lazy and silly.

Consult your secondary school textbooks.

What made egg different is that it contain all the amino acids that make up complete protein.
You can never get it in any of our beans.
Egg is called powerhouse for a reason.
Adding rice to beans completes the missing amino acids

Too many factors are involved in this crazy decline tho,not even eggs alone, the pressure the average kid is facing now is crazy…
Imagine SSS 2 kid in a public school owning an iPhone 12,the mind of an average senior secondary school student is fixated on money..
Secondary school boys are already into fraud, how do you convince them education is the best legacy when they’ve started making money most of their parent can’t make in a year

Then, blame such parent

Depending on the type of beans.
The type we have is still okay for plant based protein.

Soyabeans is also beans and has the highest protein so far for plant protein.

Soyabeans is cheap. The question is, do Nigerians eat or try soya beans like tofu or soy milk?

We don't have many things to chose from as what we call foodstuff are minimal. Aso, we are very poor country so we easily go for what can fill belle which are carbs like rice, yam, potato, cassava.
it still has more carbohydrates than protein. There's very little difference between the carbohydrate percentage of rice and beans (normal cowpea beans I mean)

Thanks to lazy youths, there’s no reason why egg is expensive in Nigeria when you can grow corn to feed chickens and sell to your immediate communities.

Man's old tweet warning that increase in price of eggs will lead to mass failure in JAMB
resurfaces

X s are calling a man a prophet after he warned that the increase in the price of eggs would lead to mass failure in JAMB.

Last year, following a sudden steep hike in the price of eggs, the man wrote on X: "1 crate of egg is 5000? Expect mass failure in jamb next
year."

At the time, people called him out and asked how price of egg would affect JAMB results. One person asked: "Wetin concern egg and JAMB?"

He responded: "Egg is the cheapest form of protein. Consumption of proteins helps with cognitive function. Egg is now more expensive so means kids will eat less proteins needed for their brain development."

His prediction came true as JAMB recorded mass failure this year. The release of statistics from the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) revealed that over 1.5 million of the 1.95 million candidates scored
below 200 out of 400.

Now, Nigerians have gone back to the X 's old tweets to tell him that he was right after all.

My MSc. journey in a prestigious University in Nigeria made me realize that education is more or less a business venture in Nigeria. The lecturer made sure you only follow what a past journal does even if you have a new idea you want to bring into the field. The lecturer made it stressful for me because I was working, made me wait hours in front of her office to see her and then tells me after that you have to choose between school or work.

Lecturers sometimes have no knowledge of the field they are in, so they only depend on student works for their publication, especially those of their MSc student, they can't take full ownership of works done by their PhD students so they co-author it.

You are right, education is nigeria is stress
