Good morning All,

My experience learning French was that I improved quickly in two ways:

- one on one speaking, online with a native speaker, I was referred through Alliance Francais. If you have the funds for that they are usually reasonable and you will make rapid improvement. Two hours a week for 6 months and you will feel close to fluent, helps your confidence a lot.

- reading French books. Often overlooked by learners, there are second hand books stores in Lagos for sure that I know that have French books, start simple and work up. Good thing about reading is that you can have the dictionary by your side and many French words are similar to English.

Hope that helps someone.

Good evening, everyone

Pls I'm seeking advice. I studied Environmental Technology for my first degree and I'm planning to pursue a Master's degree in Canada. I've been told I can pursue any course for my Master's regardless of my first degree, so I'm looking for recommendations on courses with good job prospects that can enhance my chances of staying in Canada after graduation. Any suggestions?

Except you are highly ionate about your first course of study, I would counsel you not to do masters as an immigrant (atleast for now), though Masters gives you more premise for PR but so also is any good trades program. In Canada, they call Plumbing, Electricians, Carpentry etc trades. As against going for masters, look for a good college/polythetnic, get into a trades program, when you are done, you stand a better chance of getting a good employment compared to an MSC holder.....

Most of the active contributors have either immigrated, about to immigrate or have gotten Invitations to apply.
