Back in 2023, Quadri, a young guy from Lagos, got caught up in the spotlight for ing Peter Obi at a campaign rally. A video of him went viral, and people started sending him money and promising aids. But that fame came with a dark side. Some local “area boys” got jealous, thinking they deserved a cut of his cash. Fast forward to January 2025, and things took a nasty turn. These guys allegedly kidnapped Quadri, handed him over to the police, and next thing you know, he’s slapped with armed robbery charges—accused of stealing phones and money with cutlasses alongside people he didn’t even know. The kicker? He was a minor at the time, but they locked him up in Kirikiri Correctional Centre with adults. Many, including his lawyers, are convinced the charges were cooked up to punish him for not “settling” those thugs.

Here’s some good news, though! Inibehe Effiong, a human rights lawyer who’s been fighting for Quadri, just shared that the Nigerian Correctional Service is bringing Quadri to court tomorrow, Thursday, April 17, 2025, at 9 AM. His case was originally set for April 28, but Effiong’s team and the Director of Public Prosecutions pushed to move it up, and the court agreed. They’ll be at the Apapa Magistrate Court in Ajegunle—Sikiru Adagun Courthouse, Court No. 9. Effiong’s thrilled about this step forward and will be there with Quadri’s family. He’s keeping the details about why this is happening for the courtroom, but he’s hopeful, saying, “History will vindicate the just.”

Quadri’s story has lit a fire under a lot of people, especially the Obidient movement—Peter Obi’s ers. They’ve been all over X, calling out the injustice and saying Quadri’s being punished for his Obi connection and the envy it stirred up. Effiong’s been leading the legal charge, pushing hard to get Quadri out, including getting this court date moved up. Peter Obi himself has spoken out, urging action, which has given the campaign some serious weight. Others are worried about Quadri’s safety even if he gets out, suggesting his family might need to relocate. The Obidients and other advocates have been relentless, keeping Quadri’s case in the spotlight and pressuring the authorities to do something.

Quadri’s story is a tough reminder of how quickly things can spiral for a young person in Nigeria, especially when jealousy and a shaky system get involved. But seeing how people are rallying—Obidients, lawyers, and even Obi himself—gives us hope. With the court date tomorrow, April 17, 2025, there’s a real chance Quadri could be one step closer to freedom. Fingers crossed for him.

Peter Obi and Obidient na big name normally.

Any issue we get involved in is automatically half solved.

Very soon, Alabi will be free; to the chagrin of Ronu Maggots.

Obidients and penchant for lying, quite disturbing. Was the boy given ₦500 that his life and that of his parents couldn't be transformed?

That boy got close to nothing from obidients. The young boy just laboured in vain.

When I see this boy picture in front of Obi, I the Joy that was written in everyone face. We were very hopeful of a new Nigeria.

2023 was a very joyous day for Nigerian youth because of the five people tweeting in a room according to APC.

When they saw the five people on the street, they were panicked. They rushed to eyeneck to their intentions to
TO GRAB IT

TO STEAL IT

AND TO RUNAWAY WITH IT.

we really miss the person we voted for.

If he's innocent at the end of the day then he must be compensated

Furthermore, it's not constitutional to put a minor in a prison talk more of maximum prison
