Hahaha my brother it won't o.

It will just give us false hope and it is purely unethical to be dishing out falsehood in the name of trying to help. Truth be told, ptdf scholarship is only by the pure grace of God if you know no one. Too difficult. People will gather for hours for an assessment only to be disappointed greatly. Especially when you don't know the selection criteria.

You're absolutely right my brother, may we be among the lucky and successful ones smiley

even if you do know someone, it is hard. PTDF is highly competitive and largely on merit. The chance of getting is around 2%.

I must have said something true because it irked someone or some persons and I was reported and suspended temporarily.

I repeat my sentiments again, the process will be deemed free and fair only when we are fully aware of the selection criteria.

It is unfair to invite people with very slim chances of winning the scholarship. So many person's spent their last cash on TP.

When people start airing there minds, those who are 100percent sure of a chance with get jitters and they do everything, including distracting or reporting you on SM platforms so that your write up won't jeopardize their surety.

Congratulations to those selected.

Finally, after 3 attempts at PhD, I got it this time (the 3rd attempt).

I actually said I was never going to go again if I didn't get it this time and I gave up on it after my interview.

Well congrats to me and to everyone.

Congratulations Sir.

I did not get. Even though I tried to moderate my expectation, it still stings a little. We will try again, one day he go be our turn in this or other aspects of our lives or both.

Congratulations once again everyone.

Thanks ma'am. Sure, don't give up, keep trying. Regardless of the fact that I had a PTDF MSc Scholarship, it didn't matter. I had to try the PhD for 3 times. So don't give up, keep modifying your options.

For instance, in my first time of trial (for PhD), I went through the engineering option and had a very bad experience with a Nigerian Professor. So the next time, I decided that I will change my topic to something related to environment knowing fully well that your PTDF topic doesn't matter after the scholarship. Your topic will be determined by your supervisor. If you are lucky, you will see a topic related to the one you proposed to PTDF. So I changed and diverted to environment. Had a better experience last year but didn't get it, then tried this year (same topic, same everything) and got it.

Above all, keep believing in God and don't give up.

I didn't see any country this time around. I think they didn't constrain applicants to specific country rather scheme. I.e. if you applied for the GFM option, then once you have ission in any of the country you can proceed. If you applied for the UK option then its straight forward.

In summary, I used the GFM option and will most likely go to .

Lol. You need to Chill bro. I got the Scholarship as well. I know no one. Only prepared with previous knowledge and insight from successful guys in the past. This was my third attempt.

If you keep up with this mentality, you won't get it. And while you're complaining about it, PTDF is one of the easiest scholarships in of process.

What he said is true. The process is fair, however you can't ignore the possibility that some get it by knowing people. But the majority of the successful scholars are by merit.

What I think about PTDF is that your success strongly depends on your WAEC. For instance, if you have a very good WAEC, you can be sure of getting invited for the interview. If you don't have atleast 2 As, and very few Cs, then you should forget about being invited for the Interview. If you have a good WAEC result, say 2+ As with the rest being Bs or As, Bs and 1C, anything else, your chances of getting to the Interview stage is slim.

Then during the interview: For MSc it depends on your presentation skills, your ability to engage the , add humor where necessary. I see alot of people reading and reading preparing for interviews, I never studied for PTDF Interview.

For PhD, it strongly depends on the and having extra credentials such as Awards, publications, etc. These sources of extra mark can make the difference. Imagine having your undergraduate and MSc thesis published in a journal. Imagine scoring full mark for awards, hip of professional bodies, this is where majority lose some points.
Defending your proposal is also important but it shouldn't be academic. I always tried making it simple.

To add context, My WAEC has As, Bs, and C's equally distributed. The A's are not relevant to engineering. I don't have a first class.

The important thing for MSc is the interview. If you're invited. All three previous applications I've been invited but this is one that I left feeling somewhat confident that I'll get the scholarship, because of my interview performance.

I had three professional hips and work experience and two work awards. The interview was engaging, fun and all the interviewers were invested. In the past I might be talking and they're going through my documents and not listening to what I say. I made sure I only spoke when they listened and they asked questions based on what I said. In the end, there was humour and general camaraderie with the .

What I learnt from my total experience is that you need some luck, but your fate is ultimately decided by how you get along with your . So pick a course you can defend with global facts, know your stuff and talk about your professional accomplishments if you have!
