I think Siasia should be given another chance. Keshi is ok, but maybe we should not be rushing too quickly to change coaches after a tournament failure. I think the English team is learning its lessons now. Capello is still there after their world cup failure and things seems to be improving.

This is really concerning and incidents like this should be stopped. Perhaps Nigeria might have a body that monitors police operations in the Country ( I know they have the police commission that manages them). This independent body should be carrying out breath test etc at random. I do not think the nation can sustain with this level of issues from the Police. It is difficult to argue that they should not be armed because of the level of robberies in the country. The problem in most case is that the arms they have is a problem to the public and not a deterrent to criminal activities like robberies etc. I think this deserves a national debate and a way forward. |

The government should urgently address and invest in the Local crude refining capacity as a matter of utmost importance. I am not sure if the government does an impact assessment before making such decisions ? |

Even before this match, I wanted to make a comment about Siasia about him being unnecessarily rigid. There is a fine line between instilling discipline in a team and been unnecessarily rigid and difficult with the players you are meant to coach. It is true that the Nigerian National team needs some more discipline based on the last world cup etc etc, but it should be done with balance and maturity and in my opinion, this is what is lacking. I don't think that he should be sacked for now, but he needs to review his actions. I am seeing him been unnecessarily rigid about his decisions, I saw this development coming. He should review his decisions about not calling some players to camp etc based on personal/ individual/ ego rationale. Football as a game in dynamic. A player who is out of form for a season may be in good form and shape for the next season. He should have a strategy and know what he wants out of positions/ players and fill the roles with the right skills- set as against his approach to selecting a national team. Yes, I still respect the place of discipline in a team, but should be balanced with the requirements of competitions as they emerge. This is my opinion. |

My wish for the Country: That the perpetrators of those evil both local and foreigners be exposed ( recent attacks) That Nigeria will once again be a safe place to live and work regardless of the location or state in the Country. That the people of the Country will "all" have the best interest of the Country at heart. That economically the Country will improve and advance. That as a nation we will focus more on what matters to the country now, which is decent infrastructure on which other structures can be built. The key ones for now are Constant Electricity, good Road Network and improved Security Systems including decent CCTVs and robust intelligence gathering among others. Lastly that Nigeria will be free, ? Yes Free ! God bless Nigeria. |

I knew someone who wanted to do it some years ago. The profit Margin on products are high. I imagine you mean a Pharmaceutical retail outlet as against a Pharma Company Manufacturing. If the latter, engaging with NAFDAC from the onset will be useful so as to be on the right track. I wish you the best. 1 Like |

OBJ, regardless of how some people see him is doing a great Job on this. I am sure the outcome of this visit and subsequent engagements will shed some more lights on the entity, structure and ops of the group.

I hope this is backed by a robust risk assessment ? I am of the opinion we should explore other options. Even Japan is exploring other options for energy generation. The cost implication too needs to be considered.

Nigeria and Africa in general should device its methods for conflict resolution and not just follow whatever any Country does. If dialogue is necessary as stopping this disgraceful bombing in Nigeria, I do not see why a former President can not start that Process. It,s even brave for a Southern Christian to be making such a move. I think OBJ should be commended for the brave move. On the other hand UK engaged with IRA, the bombing stopped. That is what was best for the situation then. We should be looking at the end result of this, which is for all these bombings to stop. If the nation could engage with Mend and we are not at a major war now, perhaps that model works for Nigeria. While it should not be encouraged in all situations, I think the situation in the Country is at a critical state and needs critical action. Its all good to be thousands of miles away from the country and be suggesting things, but those who are on the ground in Nigeria knows what level of fear etc they go through. In critical times, you adopt critical measures. |

In my opinion, there should be a three dimensional approach to this issue. 1. Military Responsive action. This must be sensitively approached. Both Proactive and Reactive. 2. Intelligence Approach. To get to the depth of those who are perpetrating the atrocities, their sponsors, funding bodies, inciters etc etc 3. Dialogue Approach. To engage with the various waring parties with the aim of fostering peace. This needs some complex handing because of the overlap of tribe, geographical and the religions of the conflict. I hope and pray the problem gets solved. |

Even if we use the 33 million as a base figure discounting the possibility of higher figure, that is still high. Depending what our actual Population stats are that is still just over 20 % unemployed. I am hypothetically using 160 million population as an assumption here. If we drill it down to specifics like age demography/ working population/ and so on, the % could be somewhere between 30-40 % depending on other variables. My point is even at 33 million, it is still an alarming data that needs some correction. It is not sustainable. I would imagine we should be looking at the employment capacity within the country and embark on some Options appraisal to open up the economy. Even if there are no jobs/ employment capacity in firms, perhaps self- employment backed up by Micro- financing/ portable financing etc should be embarked on, on a large scale bases. I know some of these exists now but if it is a Local, state and national priority with funding going into these, it might ease some of the unemployment. |

It's good to see that some are addressing the real issue here, Lack of High level official confidentiality. It seems as if we are reporting back to US and so on on every issue in the Country at any level. Sharing personal health at that level is a shortcoming.

I am not sure of where fundamental Human Rights stands with this Sharia Law thing. I think the nation should review it. I do not know why one single sets of rule can apply to a Country. We have sharia/ Islamic Law now we have Islamic banking, who knows what next ? I think things are taken too far.

Its a good start in the right direction. I imagine it will be similar to the DVLA system in the UK. It can be the start of a comprehensive data capture into other strands. The most important thing now is the maintenance of the integrity of the data, especially around updates etc. I hope it works well. What would have been useful to go in par with this is a number plate recognition system/ facial data capture via CCTV and role it out. In light of all these recent event the Country is now ripe for such systems. |

While it is good to diversify its foreign reserves, it needs to be approached with caution. There are few financial analysis emerging that Chinese Economy might be having some Hick-ups. On the other hand, the Chinese Government deliberately keeps its currency low for competition. Could we recollect that around 18 months ago or so Obama was really putting pressure on the Chinese regarding the low value on their currency because of the negative impact on US exports. On the other hand, the US economy might be experiencing some inflationary issues down the line, thus it is rational to diversify if you have currency reserves in dollars. |
