No amount. It's not what you have in atore that counts, it's what's coming in every day, week or month on a regular. (Cash flow) Even #50m will go down the drain in one year if you don't have something reliable you're doing with it. Bills will eat up everything from travel, school fees, car and house repairs, failed businesses and deals etc Even if you keep it in Piggybank or whatever, the interest rate will not be sufficient. It's more important to build yourself in of skill or business and use that to feed and grow. You can then build at least 12 houses that will pay you month salary when you're old and geriatric. 2 Likes |

The primary reason is the major channels of japa have closed or become too restricted. Poor forex has also added an additional barrier. Tuition fees are so high, you can't bring your family as a student anymore and skilled migration faces very tight global competition for selection. But if you still have the chance and means, please japa o. It's when you travel you realise the opportunity to truly live free. Nigeria is not built to the average person to financial success. 5 Likes |

I would love to drop my 2 cents as well. You can try to think logically about religion and it's demands and some things just don't make sense..but this same logic cannot explain a multitude of things happening in the world today. Nature is simply beyond human capabilities and understanding and we keep learning something new everyday even though we've been on here for tens of thousands of years. Even the global political sphere is spiralling out of control because no man can claim control over everyone. Following this thought trajectory, you would soon arrive at the conclusion that there is a need for a supreme being, the absence of whom all you see today would not exist. In your personal life as well, you would soon réalisé you can't control many things, neither can the humans you look up to....and that why people resort to a higher being which explains the multiple religions/doctrines we have today. Now we have free will and can choose whatever faith we want and abide by it's rules. This is not by church or pastor but by the supernatural. Simply put, 1000 people in a church could all have different beliefs. Hold on to your belief. If your beliefs go against tithes and offerings, don't pay it and don't be cajoled or intimidated to do so. That won't prevent you from entering the church everyday to dance to praise and worship. But if your understanding of your personal faith says you should do somethings you feel uncomfortable with but are necessary. You would do it, no questions asked. |

Forget all the high prices you see online. Hot the streets and you would get a good car with that amount. It won't be luxury and it won't be a new model but it will serve you and protect your family from rain. Look for clean cars of 1999 to 2001. Honda Accord, CRV, Nissan Sunny, Honda Civic and perhaps a golf. 4 Likes |

Are we so blind to see that there is a renewed resurgence to take over the country by these bandits and insurgents most especially as it seems the military is not able or not even interested in putting them in check anymore. Everyone is just out for their personal enrichment now. From Northwest to northeast, to the middle belt and south east, it has become a free for all land grab, pillaging and bloodletting where the citizens have now become helpless victims. Bandits are kidnapping and making money and terrorists are attacking military bases and claiming land area with no recourse. People are being murdered at alarming rate and it's now an everyday affair...and still no one is being brought to book. These are fathers, mothers, children and siblings for goodness sake. With just a little more time, we would become DR Congo or even worse 21 Likes 2 Shares |

What if none of them treated you well even when your father was alive? Its good that you are coming of age and you see how siblings who honestly loved each other and were inseperate as kids grow up to become resentful to each other. That's life and it happens. Focus on your future and personal development. Build new relationships. It would suprise you that "some" friends become closer than family. If you can, do well to take care of your nieces and nephews. They're the ones who would come through when you are old and wrinkled. |

Nna2025:People are making lost of money from the lending business, almost in an exploitative manner. We're talking about 4% interest monthly on cash that is on lockdown not to talk of expendable. You only need solid verification of being able to get your funds back in the event things go south. Having a connection with an manager to the client's cashflow and ensure a debit clause can be put on the in the event of default. You can also work with collaterals but of ocurse you do your due diligence. Ensure the client is the real owner and you have the right to take over the asset or sell it in if the client fails to deliver as stipulated in the contract. The magic lies in the process so you need to set the neccessary mechanisms in place. Best of luck |

I scoured nairaland pages to get a clue on how to negotiate but results came back old and inconclusive. I plan to raise a 70sqm 2 bedroom building somewhere in Ogun state (one of the Ijebus) and I got a bill of #765k just for the design. (I already paid about #350k for survey. Architect said the majority goes to ing the design with town planning. How true is this? This is the break down of his quote. Design: #150,000 Stamp duty: #100,000 Tac clearance: #150,000 Assessment: #120,000 Processing fee: #80,000 Site situation report: #150,000 Application form: #15,000 Total: #765,000 Please I'd appreciate if the nairaland community who have recently commissioned a house design can give me some pointers. Thanks in advance. |

emmaodet:Haha. Many if not all humans are like that brother. It's a human thing and only takes a naturally gentle and righteous person to not exhibit such characters. Others try to mask it. The only difference between men and women is how we think however and so it's a bit worse on their side. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Chief, you are not alone in this issue. A lot of husbands are going through the exact same thing. Stay at home wives who feel entitled and unappreciative. Who always boast that they are loyal and their contribution to the marriage are the kids. Who glamorize their spinster years as the golden era and say they believe they would be better off if they didn't marry their current husband. Ultimately, you should put yourself first and give yourself peace. Do what you can for the family and leave the rest. Don't expect gratitude. The people they would slander you to know better so don't worry as long as you know you're doing you own bit. Learn to enjoy your life with or without family as this is your golden age. 55 Likes 6 Shares |

This reminds me of a friend back in uni who had a crazy roommate. Apart from the bad company and weed smoke in the room, this guy plays porn at the loudest volume possible and he dared not caution him because the guy belonged. My friend then was a Deeper lifer. He would go on his knees severally to ask for Gods forgiveness. Also stay outside the room at his inconvenience when the sound becomes unbearable. ![]() @Op, please inform the old man. That's enough embarrassment for him to change |

GboyegaD: Just because you don't know doesn't mean doctorates are free. You can pay for your PhD in all these countries you mentioned but that's if you can. If you truly know about these things, you won't be speaking this way. What's the essence of carrying the whole family and kids when you are the only income source in a expensive country? To each his own anyway. |

GboyegaD: US: Your spouse can't work. For all: Do you have the required pof? PhDs are competitive because you literally have 1000 applications for 2 vacancies. |

GboyegaD:How many countries today allow Masters students bring their spouses along? Except for UK which a lot of people exploited and which is shut down already. Masters is the most popular student route to japa as PhDs are too competitive. Besides how many people have the resources to carry wife and children together as they travel for the first time. Let's be realistic on this platform please. 2 Likes |

Well done betabread and more grease to your elbows. If you know the actual state of things, you won't waste your resources in farm production not to talk of 6 month gestation crops. Economically it's just not worth it. Farming is so much risk for little reward and this is due to multiple factors. The blue ocean strategy remains valid here. You are competing with 70% of Nigeria's workforce and you expect farming not to be supply driven when anybody can throw seeds in the ground expect it to grow? Let's not talk about the kangaroo policies or unethical nature of most Nigerians. Those making it in Agric today are the tradesmen and the processors. Look around you, top Agric players in Nigeria only do contract farming or delve into other stages of the value chain. Not production. There's a solid reason for that. Even in the EU and US, farmers are heavily ed by the govt or simultaneous high income businesses they go belly up. Anyways, I wish you good luck and more perseverance. |

I agree with what you'be decided. Find an alternative source of income that you can rely on when there are no contracts but don't give up on building your experience and portfolio. When you finally get your contract, you would get solid money. Don't forget to continue hustling for gigs too. It's not just about ing yourself to these one time projects. Sell yourself aggressively to anyone and everyone. It's marketing that brings the jobs, not only skills. Lokoja is also a good place to build yourself because I can imagine that the competition in Abuja would be quite stiff |

You're hooked and this is unhealthy for you. Relationships like this don't work because the energy is unevenly matched and you would crowd her too quickly. You had better cut off communication and deliver yourself. When it's time, you would waste your money on this adventure and won't even see her underwear because she won't even come to your house. ![]() Anyways, it would be a good lesson for you so continue. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Putindbutt: Funds. Do you believe those political funds reach the grassroots? Go and ask why Afex is struggling with GTBank or why a lot of the organisations through which these loans are disbursed are having a hard time making payments. Those who majorly supply the market are doing it out of pocket and that's why they would hike prices to recoup their investments. |
