Immediate past National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kola Ologbondiyan has urged Senator Samuel Anyanwu to abide by the decision of the party hierarchy affirming Sunday Ude- Okoye as the National Secretary of the party.

The battle over the National Secretary position intensified after the South-East PDP nominated Ude-Okoye to replace Anyanwu, who left in order to contest the in the 2023 Imo State governorship election.

Despite the Court of Appeal’s ruling in December 2024 affirming Ude-Okoye as the substantive national secretary , Anyanwu resisted the decision and resumed office last month, leading to tensions within the party.

Following the decision of the Governors of the party and the Board of Trustees (BoT) where they affirmed their for Ude- Okoye, Ologbondiyan urged Anyanwu to respect the decision in the interest of the party.

He however said Anyanwu is at liberty to approach the Supreme Court to challenge the ruling of the appellate court which favoured Ude- Okoye.

“The governors and the BoT have done the right thing. The court has ruled that Ude- Okoye is the authentic national secretary and the PDP is a law-abiding party. With the court having ruled in favour of Ude- Okoye, what Anyanwu should do is to allow him to resume while he goes to prosecute his appeal in the Supreme Court”.

“If he is able to win his appeal in the Supreme Court, it will be a different ball game but now, insisting that he must be in charge as National Secretary is an abuse of court process and even an insult to the integrity of the party”.

Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has sacked two of his female media aides.

The aides affected include Ewatomilola Emiola, Senior Special Assistant on Research & Documentation, and Kikelomo Isijola, Special Assistant on Digital Media.

This was contained in a statement on Tuesday by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Ebenezer Adeniyan, in Akure, the state capital.

The statement reads “The Governor of Ondo State, Hon Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has approved the reorganisation of the Government House Media team.

“To this effect, the following Media aides have been relieved of their duties with immediate effect. Ewatomilola Emiola, Senior Special Assistant on Research & Documentation and Kikelomo Isijola, Special Assistant on Digital Media.

“They have been directed to hand over government properties in their care to the office of the Chief of Staff to the Governor.

“The Governor thanks the two of his Media team for their services and wishes them well in their future endeavours.”

In a post on Facebook moments after she was dismissed , one of the sacked aides, Isijola Kikelomo posted ” With our eyes shall we see the wicked fall into the pit they have dug for us”.
