Good evening everyone, Please I'm looking to transition my home to solar power, but the initial investment seems daunting. My power requirements include: - Powering TVs and dispenser - Lighting 6 bulbs - Charging 6 phones and laptops - Running multiple fans and maybe add a fridge or freezer last last. The estimated total cost is around ₦1.8-2 million, which is out of my present budget. I'd like to phase my purchases to make it more manageable. That's why I'm looking for recommendations and advice. My proposed budget for the first phase: ₦450,000-₦500,000. Request: 1. Recommendations for durable solar components, including: - Solar s: Best brands for monocrystalline and polycrystalline s - Charge Controllers: MPPT vs PWM, suitable brands - Batteries: Lead-acid vs lithium, recommended brands - Inverters: Suitable types and brands for home use 2. Phased purchase plan: - Phase 1 (₦450,000-₦500,000): Which component(s) should I prioritize? - Phase 2: What comes next? - Phase 3: Final components to complete the system I'd appreciate guidance on how to gradually build my solar power system without breaking the bank. Thank you for your assistance! 1 Like |

Great100000: Rebuttal: Tinubu’s State of Emergency in Rivers State is a Dangerous Overreach, Not a "Strategic Intervention" The article by Dr. G. A. Fraser paints President Tinubu’s declaration of a state of emergency in Rivers State as a noble, stabilizing move. However, this interpretation is dangerously misleading. Far from being a well-meaning intervention, this decision is an undemocratic power grab that sets a dangerous precedent for Nigeria’s federal system. 1. Suspending Democracy Under the Guise of "Stability" Declaring a state of emergency to resolve political disputes between a governor and lawmakers is an extreme overreach. Rivers State is not facing a war, widespread violence, or a complete breakdown of governance—traditional justifications for such a measure. Instead, this is purely a political crisis, one that should be resolved through legal and democratic means, not military-style intervention. By removing elected officials and installing a military , Tinubu is effectively endorsing rule by fiat rather than constitutional processes. If this becomes the norm, any governor who clashes with the federal government or powerful political figures risks being unseated under the pretext of an "emergency." 2. A Blatant Move to Protect Fubara and Undermine Wike The claim that this action "neutralizes the threat to Fubara" while "diminishing Wike’s influence" exposes the real motive: political favoritism. If Tinubu were truly impartial, he would allow the impeachment process (flawed as it may be) to follow legal procedures rather than shutting it down entirely. Instead, this move rewards Fubara by shielding him from ability while punishing Wike’s allies—confirming suspicions that the presidency is taking sides in what should be a state-level dispute. If Tinubu wanted to be fair, he would have mediated without suspending democracy. 3. Pipeline Vandalism is a Poor Excuse The mention of pipeline vandalism as justification is laughable. If the federal government cannot secure pipelines without suspending an entire state’s government, then it has failed in its basic duty. Security agencies should handle criminal activities—not dismantle democratic institutions. This excuse also ignores the fact that pipeline vandalism has been a long-standing issue in the Niger Delta. Why declare an emergency now, coincidentally when Fubara faces impeachment? The timing reeks of political opportunism. 4. A Slippery Slope Toward Authoritarianism If a president can unilaterally remove elected officials whenever there is political friction, Nigeria’s democracy is in grave danger. Today, it’s Rivers State; tomorrow, it could be any opposition-led state that clashes with the federal government. This move echoes the darkest days of military rule, where elected governments were routinely toppled under flimsy pretexts. Conclusion: Tinubu’s Move is a Threat to Federalism This state of emergency is not a "strategic intervention"—it is an authoritarian power play. Instead of strengthening democracy, it weakens it by suggesting that political disputes should be resolved by presidential decree rather than due process. If Tinubu truly cared about stability, he would enforce the rule of law, not by it. Nigerians must reject this dangerous precedent before it becomes the new normal. |

So sad you allowed this thing to become such a dreadful burden. You have a right to express how you feel about anything in that house because you are a family member. But you bottle everything up and already thinking that nobody loves you at home. Do not be your own enemy man! Family is everything
