I think we are all here to learn. I installed it in my place of business. If I knew then what I know now, I would have made better choices.

Solar is not complicated as most installers would have you believe. Considering your conservative load you can go for:

3Kv Hybrid inverter. Eliminates the need for separate Mppt charger and other complicated connections. Cost about 600k

5kwh Lithium Battery: This is better than Tubular battery. It's cost intensive but overtime, it'll serve you better as it is maintenance free. Research about the differences. Costs about 1.3m.

Solar s: Go for higher rated s instead of populating your rooftops with smaller watts s.4 pieces of 600w should provide you enough to cover your house load and feed excess. 130k for each

Breakers, cables and other components: Your installer should be able to advise you on these. Be sure to use the appropriate cables to avoid loss of energy or burning.

This is what I'm saving up for though. So it's for personal use. You may need to readjust your budget but you'll be better off for it. Also you may be needing to turn off heavy appliances after sundown. Good luck.
I haven't commented on this forum for years. Back to my hibernation.

Thank you so so much Sir for your kindness in sharing your personal thoughts and experience. This is very helpful indeed. Thank you and God bless 🙏

Good evening everyone,

Please I'm looking to transition my home to solar power, but the initial investment seems daunting. My power requirements include:
- Powering TVs and dispenser
- Lighting 6 bulbs
- Charging 6 phones and laptops
- Running multiple fans and maybe add a fridge or freezer last last.

The estimated total cost is around ₦1.8-2 million, which is out of my present budget. I'd like to phase my purchases to make it more manageable. That's why I'm looking for recommendations and advice. My proposed budget for the first phase: ₦450,000-₦500,000.
Request:
1. Recommendations for durable solar components, including:
- Solar s: Best brands for monocrystalline and polycrystalline s
- Charge Controllers: MPPT vs PWM, suitable brands
- Batteries: Lead-acid vs lithium, recommended brands
- Inverters: Suitable types and brands for home use
2. Phased purchase plan:
- Phase 1 (₦450,000-₦500,000): Which component(s) should I prioritize?
- Phase 2: What comes next?
- Phase 3: Final components to complete the system
I'd appreciate guidance on how to gradually build my solar power system without breaking the bank. Thank you for your assistance!

As good as it might sound trying to democratize the FCT, it is far from being properly framed and a little too far from being logical and realistic. How reasonably practicable is it having three FCTs?. The operating word here is " federal" - meaning each region would be a host to the three arms of Government ( executive, legislative and judiciary). How possibly can we replicate three three National Assemblies, three Executives and three Supreme Courts?. Of all the three arms, the Supreme Court appears the most practicable, it kind of makes sense having Supreme Court each in Lagos, PH and Abuja, it definitely going to save lots of time and stress going all the way to Abuja for a final verdict.
I have heard Senior Advocates clamour for at least one magistrate court in each Local Government.
Several countries that practice multiple capitals did that by locating an arm of Government at separate locations. For instance, a particular city houses the executive capital (the seat of power), another city houses the legislative capital while a third city houses the judicial capital. It would therefore be more reasonable and better suited if Nigeria could replicate the same arrangement, if there will ever be a consideration at all. Lagos as the Legislative Capital, PH as the Judicial Capital while Abuja retains the Executive Capital.Otherwise, the most acceptable idea will be to give special status to both Lagos and PH while Abuja continue being the sole FCT.

Ohh. You didn't understand what the writer was blabbing about.

The popular Flag boy was arrested in front of transcorp hotel maitama, as seen in clips below , he’s was dragged by men of the Nigerian police force !!!

Rebuttal: Tinubu’s State of Emergency in Rivers State is a Dangerous Overreach, Not a "Strategic Intervention"

The article by Dr. G. A. Fraser paints President Tinubu’s declaration of a state of emergency in Rivers State as a noble, stabilizing move. However, this interpretation is dangerously misleading. Far from being a well-meaning intervention, this decision is an undemocratic power grab that sets a dangerous precedent for Nigeria’s federal system.

1. Suspending Democracy Under the Guise of "Stability"
Declaring a state of emergency to resolve political disputes between a governor and lawmakers is an extreme overreach. Rivers State is not facing a war, widespread violence, or a complete breakdown of governance—traditional justifications for such a measure. Instead, this is purely a political crisis, one that should be resolved through legal and democratic means, not military-style intervention.

By removing elected officials and installing a military , Tinubu is effectively endorsing rule by fiat rather than constitutional processes. If this becomes the norm, any governor who clashes with the federal government or powerful political figures risks being unseated under the pretext of an "emergency."

2. A Blatant Move to Protect Fubara and Undermine Wike
The claim that this action "neutralizes the threat to Fubara" while "diminishing Wike’s influence" exposes the real motive: political favoritism. If Tinubu were truly impartial, he would allow the impeachment process (flawed as it may be) to follow legal procedures rather than shutting it down entirely.

Instead, this move rewards Fubara by shielding him from ability while punishing Wike’s allies—confirming suspicions that the presidency is taking sides in what should be a state-level dispute. If Tinubu wanted to be fair, he would have mediated without suspending democracy.

3. Pipeline Vandalism is a Poor Excuse
The mention of pipeline vandalism as justification is laughable. If the federal government cannot secure pipelines without suspending an entire state’s government, then it has failed in its basic duty. Security agencies should handle criminal activities—not dismantle democratic institutions.

This excuse also ignores the fact that pipeline vandalism has been a long-standing issue in the Niger Delta. Why declare an emergency now, coincidentally when Fubara faces impeachment? The timing reeks of political opportunism.

4. A Slippery Slope Toward Authoritarianism
If a president can unilaterally remove elected officials whenever there is political friction, Nigeria’s democracy is in grave danger. Today, it’s Rivers State; tomorrow, it could be any opposition-led state that clashes with the federal government. This move echoes the darkest days of military rule, where elected governments were routinely toppled under flimsy pretexts.

Conclusion: Tinubu’s Move is a Threat to Federalism
This state of emergency is not a "strategic intervention"—it is an authoritarian power play. Instead of strengthening democracy, it weakens it by suggesting that political disputes should be resolved by presidential decree rather than due process.

If Tinubu truly cared about stability, he would enforce the rule of law, not by it. Nigerians must reject this dangerous precedent before it becomes the new normal.

Just got myself an S60 Volvo saloon. This is the first time I'll be using a Volvo. I've not even taken delivery as it is still in Abj. But there's a fault with the compressor clutch. Please do I need to change the whole compressor or it's just fine to replace the clutch alone. Again, I will also be grateful if I get of reliable Volvo parts sellers in Lagos.

Thanks for your guidance all!

Splendid.
I learnt that SW has quite an investment in the East.
The biggest mall in the SE,Polo Park was built by Tayo Amusan with the cooperation of the govt.
There are Chicken Republic,Tantalizers and other SW and Nigeria top eateries in the SE.
Gtb aka Gtco.
Fcmb bank.
First bank etc.
There was a time I went to the SE and had cause to go to Asaba Which is very close to Onitsha,I stayed there for a couple of days.
Just on the Benin-Onitsha express road,I saw about 3 to 4 Swesterners coys.
I saw on the right side going to the Niger bridge en route to Onitsha,A huge industry called Animal Feeds,I saw Elizade coy,a petrol station owned by a Yoruba man on the left then a block making establishment by a Westerner.
I thought that seeing about 4 coys of Western origin in a distance not too far means there are still others strewn all over the SE and SS.
Through my research,I believe that Yorubas are very good at making wealth and very industrious indeed.

Wow, that's an incredibly generous offer from Kiddwaya! It's clear that he sees Cee-C as a strong competitor in the Big Brother 'All Stars' house and is willing to pay a significant sum for her to leave the competition. This move definitely shows the level of determination and ambition from both Kiddwaya and Cee-C. It will be interesting to see how she responds to this tempting offer and how it affects the dynamics in the house. Nevertheless, it's irable to witness such bold and strategic gameplay from the contestants.

I feel overwhelmed by what just happened.

A little background information: I lived and studied in Ogun precisely before my called-up letter came. I saw Abia in my call-up letter and the next thought that crowded my mind was the hatred projected during the just concluded election.

Since I had no connection, I chose my fate and had to skip my reporting date to camp. After losing every hope of redeployment, I decided to follow the next batch.

Our driver stopped in Lokoja and we rested before we continue the next day to Abia.

I had to make a plan that when I have money, I will buy their native wear to disguise myself. Immediately I stopped at the Abia park, I entered the next bus to the orientation camp.

After our three weeks in camp, I reported to my PPA.

Yesterday, I wanted to get a recharge card from a kiosk beside the road and I met an Igbo man. He looked at me and immediately fear gripped me.

He asked me whether I was new in the area, I wanted to lie and say "no". But my mouth betrayed me.

He smiled and bought the item in the attached picture below.

What happened to us? I had to repent. Truly Nigerians are loving people. I couldn't contain my joy.

This is my first time in the southeast and just this singular act from yesterday has changed a lot about how I see Nigerians.

I know there are a lot of agitations but yesterday a Nigerian showed kindness to a Nigerian. It's officially my 1 month and 15 days in Abia.

Sir Nlfpm.od. This is my latest experience.

Bush Boy,
Probably you even voted for Tinubu because the provincial souls around you have told you all you needed to know about the Igbo. May your coming of age continue. One Ronu soul has seen the light. Praise the Lord.
