Your life is a letter (2) Saturday 7th June 2025 âWe ⌠are being transformed into His image ...â 2 Corinthians 3:18 NIV You have probably heard the old saying about doctors and their prescriptions, âThey can read writing, but they canât write reading.â A letter must be easily read and understood. Incomprehensible writing distorts the message and discourages the reader. The purpose of a letter is to convey the writerâs thoughts. When it doesnât, the reader stops reading or fails to get the message. And since âYou show that you are a letter from Christ,â (2 Corinthians 3:3 NIV), here are some common distortions you need to avoid: 1) Dishonesty on the job. That includes things like inflating your expenses, stealing company time, and taking home items you think wonât be missed. 2) A bad attitude. For example, resentment when a friend, fellow worker, or boss asks you at an inconvenient time to help them and go the extra mile. 3) Substandard work reflected in shoddy products and services. 4) Unreliability and inconsistency. Can you be counted on to be where youâre supposed to be and to fulfil your obligations? 5) Being a killjoy. Christians who lack a sense of humour and act like they are joy impaired hurt the cause of Christ instead of helping it. 6) Touchiness. How do people âreadâ you? Do you wear your feelings on your sleeve? Are you easily upset? Do you overreact to unintended offences? 7) Temper tantrums. Are you crabby, grumpy, and complaining when things donât go your way? ![]() |

Your life is a letter (1) Fri, 6 Jun 2025 âYou show that you are a letter from Christ,â 2 Corinthians 3:3 Paul wrote to the Corinthian believers: âYou yourselves are our letter, written on our hearts, known and read by everyone. You show that you are a letter from Christ, the result of our ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, ⌠on tablets of human heartsâ (2 Corinthians 3:2-3 NIV). Usually, when we get letters through the post, we sort it into two piles: important letters and junk mail. How do we make that determination? By answering these two questions: 1) Who is the letter from? The source determines your interest level. And you are a letter to the world from Christ, and about Christ, âFor what we preach is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, âŚâ (2 Corinthians 4:5 NIV). Religious people often promote their denomination, but weâre called to promote Christâand Him alone. Are people really interested? Yes, Jesus promised, âAnd I, when I am lifted up ⌠will draw all people to myselfâ (John 12:32 NIV). Nothing is more needed today than a living portrait of Jesus reflected in the lives of His redeemed people. So, deliver your love letter to whoever crosses your path. 2) Who is the letter addressed to? The Bible answers that question: â⌠that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting lifeâ (John 3:16 NKJV). Dr David Yonggi Cho built the worldâs largest church in Seoul, South Korea: almost a million people. Thatâs bigger than many towns and cities. But as a young Buddhist, he was led to Christ by a lady he only met once. What if she had decided to remain silent? Your life is a letter from Christ with the potential to change someone elseâs life, so make sure you deliver it. |

Donât get ahead of God Thu, 5 Jun 2025 âExcept the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it...â Psalm 127:1 One Bible teacher writes: âSatan doesnât mind when we build, as long as heâs the head contractor. Heâll make sure we smear Godâs name all over our dreams, then when they fail, itâll look like He failed. Romans 8:14 says, âFor as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of Godâ (KJV). Itâs important to know Godâs plan, as well as when, where, and through whom He wants it accomplished. Itâs easy to get caught up in the busyness of ministry and run ahead of Him. The key is to stay in constant communication and let Him lead you step by step so that everything is in place for a successful outcome. Like the military, the troops may be informed about the mission, but they must wait for their commander to tell them when and how to accomplish their assignment. A soldier doesnât attend one briefing and then run off and accomplish the plan alone. He stays in with his commanding officer, who coordinates the mission and leads him and his fellow soldiers to victory. Itâs vital to stay in touch with headquarters so you know the master plan, stay on course, and achieve victory.â If youâre inclined to go it alone, make this your prayer: âGod, itâs foolish to get ahead of Youâbut putting that into practice isnât easy. Show me how I can spend more time with You and become more sensitive to Your voice. If I go off on my own, have Your Holy Spirit check and correct my spirit. I donât want to build in vain. I want my ministry to be an extension of You, so You get the glory.â |

Out with the old and in with the new! Wed, 4 Jun 2025 âNo one puts new wine into old wineskins;â Mark 2:22 As a new creation, youâre no longer controlled by your old behaviour but by your relationship with Christ. You may have been given a new uniform at work when they rebranded and remodelled the business, but if your sullen attitude remains the same, then itâs like putting new wine into old wineskin. Jesus says weâre bound to fail because â⌠the new wine bursts the wineskins, ⌠and the wineskins are ruined âŚâ (Mark 2:22 NKJV). But donât we do the same when it comes to our Christian walk? The new wine of honesty-at-work, poured into the old wineskin of cutting corners. The new wine of unconditional love, poured into the old wineskin of hatred for the family two doors down. The new wine of worship, poured into the old wineskin of idolising money, power, music, or the latest video game. The new wine of Bible study, poured into the old wineskin of âgotta-go-pop-tart-for-breakfast' busyness. The new wine of humility, poured into the old wineskin of conceit. The new wine of forgiveness, poured into the old wineskin of bitterness. The new wine of others first, poured into the old wineskin of selfish ambition. The new wine of joy, poured into the old wineskin of jealousy and factions. The new wine of peace, poured into the old wineskin of discord.â If any of this sounds familiar, itâs time to ditch the old wineskin and let God make you a powerful, new, clean vessel. |

Today, use your God-given power Tue, 3 Jun 2025 âYou shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you;â Acts 1:8 You say, âIf Christ lives in me, why do I still think and act the way I do?â A Christian leader explains: âThe answer is illustrated in a story about a lady who had a small house ⌠at the turn of the century. She was quite wealthy but also quite frugal ⌠People were surprised, then, when she decided to be among the first to have electricity in her home. Several weeks after the installation, a meter reader appeared at her door. He asked her if her electricity was working well, and she assured him it was. âIâm wondering if you can explain something to me,â he said. âYour meter shows scarcely any usage. Are you using your power?â âCertainly,â she answered. âEach evening when the sun sets, I turn on my lights just long enough to light my candles; then I turn them off.ââ Sheâs tapped into the power but didnât use it. Her house is connected but not altered. Donât we make the same mistake? We, tooâwith our souls saved but our hearts unchangedâare connected but not altered. Trusting Christ for salvation but resisting transformation. We occasionally flip the switch, but most of the time we settle for shadows. What would happen if we left the light on? What changes would occur if we set about the task of dwelling in the radiance of Christ? No doubt about it: God has ambitious plans for us. The same one who saved your soul longs to remake your heart. His plan is nothing short of a total transformation.â âFor those he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, âŚâ (Romans 8:29 CSB). Today, use your God-given power. |

Be real Mon, 2 Jun 2025 âPeople judge by outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.â 1 Samuel 16:7 Jesus was rough on Pharisees: âOutwardly you look like righteous people, but inwardly your hearts are filled with hypocrisy and lawlessnessâ (Matthew 23:28 NLT). They put on a good front but were devoid of grace, mercy, and comion. And Jesus called them on it! Because we live in an appearance-focused society, Jesus warns us about the dangers that come from dwelling on the outer life at the cost of developing the inner life. So, how do you keep that from happening? 1) Follow Jesusâ example. He spent His life ministering to the hurting, the forgotten, the lost, and lonely. 2) Keep in mind that even though youâre a Christian, you will still struggle in certain areas, and donât try to act like you âhave it all togetherâ. 3) Ask God to reveal behaviour patterns that are appearance oriented instead of heart oriented. 4) Surround yourself with transparent people who encourage you to be real and correct you when you need it. American author Marybeth Whalen writes: âThe painters painted the wall leading downstairs ⌠A week later I discovered, while the wall had been repainted, the habits hadnât changed. The kids were still dragging their dirty hands behind them, making what was white and clean, grey, and dirty. Like that wall, if Iâm not careful I can cover up whatâs there ⌠wear the Christian tee shirt, carry my Bible, smile like everythingâs great, and talk a good game about my walk with the Lord. But deep inside the ugly habits are waiting to be revealed the moment life gets messy. I can become a modern-day Pharisee who focuses on the whitewash and ignores the dirty stuff underneath.â So, be real. |

You are the vessel, not the treasure Sun, 1 Jun 2025 âWe have this treasure in earthen vessels,â 2 Corinthians 4:7 Be careful to make the distinction between the âearthen vesselâ and the âtreasureâ. Paul says, âWe have this treasureâ; he doesnât say, âWe are this treasureâ! Anytime you allow people to think of you as the treasure, God is not pleased, and youâre setting yourself up to fail. When God deposits a treasure within you, it means two things: 1) He expects a return on His investment. 2) Youâre called to a higher level of responsibility and ability. Sometimes people think leaders are immune to lifeâs tests and trials. Not so! Because someone has talent doesnât mean they donât struggle in certain areas. Their struggles may be unseen, but theyâre real. Letâs face it; God uses people we would have censured and thrown away, like Rahab working as a prostitute in Jericho. But when she placed her faith in God, He used her to help win the battle of Jericho. Then He included her in the family line of Christ (see Hebrews 11:31). And how about Jephthah? He was born to an unwed mother, rejected as illegitimate by his half brothers and sisters, and ended up living in a cave with a gang. Yet God used him to deliver Israel and become one of its youngest leaders (see Hebrews 11:32). God specialises in restoring broken vessels. He takes things that arenât productiveâmarriages that donât work, people with problemsâand teaches them how to be victorious and fruitful in His service. Knowing that gives you the strength and tenacity to face whatever comes because you understand that when God places His treasure within you, He protects it, uses it, and blesses it. Welcome to June. Your month of blessing in Jesus name đ. |

âMuch moreâ or âmuch lessâ (2) Sat, 31 May 2025 âHow much more shall your Father ⌠give good things to them that ask Him?â Matthew 7:11 Try to imagine the abundance God has prepared for you (see 1 Corinthians 2:9). Then decide that the language of your heart will be the âmuch moreâ of faith, not the âmuch lessâ of unbelief. Observe: 1) Your salvation supersedes your sin. No matter how sinful your history, â⌠if by the one manâs offence many died, much more the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abounded to manyâ (Romans 5:15 NKJV). Rejoice! Youâre âmuch moreâ forgiven. 2) Christâs life in you continuously saves you. If He lives in you, His salvation remains actively at work in you. âFor if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of His Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by His lifeâ (Romans 5:10 KJV). 3) The Holy Spirit will be in you abundantly. â"If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!" (Luke 11:13 NKJV). He gives the Spirit âmuch moreâ to His children. 4) You can triumph in life through Jesus. â⌠much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.â (Romans 5:17 NKJV). By Godâs grace, you can walk in âmuch moreâ victory. 5) All you need, He will provide. âIf you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!â (Matthew 7:11 NKJV). As you develop a âmuch moreâ mentality, you will begin to enjoy the âgood thingsâ God provides. |

âMuch moreâ or âmuch lessâ (1) Fri, 30 May 2025 âBut where sin abounded, grace did much more abound.â Romans 5:20 Here is an expression used throughout Scripture to describe Godâs provision for us: âmuch moreâ. It assures us there is no need we will ever face that canât be met through His abundant resources. Our tendency is to approach our needs with an attitude of âmuch lessâ. It assumes that God is unable or unwilling to meet them. No, God wants us to adopt a âmuch moreâ attitude. Much less is the language of visible things; it allows circumstances and lack to govern our lives. Much more is the language of unseen things; it invites us to live in the assurance of Godâs abundance. There is an inspiring illustration of this principle in 2 Chronicles 32. The Assyrian King Sennacheribâs forces were threatening Israel with annihilation. After he told them to look around and see what he had done to the people of other lands, he added, â⌠How much less shall your God deliver you out of mine hand?â (2 Chronicles 32:15 KJV). But instead, King Hezekiah fixed his eye of faith on Godâs resources and encouraged the Israelites: âBe strong and courageous, be not afraid ⌠for the king of Assyria, nor for all the multitude that is with him: for there be more with us than with him: with him is an arm of flesh; but with us is the Lord our God to help us, and to fight our battles. âŚâ (2 Chronicles 32:7-8 KJV). Although the Assyrians had a vastly superior army, verse eight says Godâs people ârested themselvesâ (stopped worrying), believing the hand of God was much more effective than the arm of the flesh! And itâs time you developed a âmuch moreâ mentality in your life because our God is â⌠able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, âŚâ (Ephesians 3:20 KJV). |
