It's always scary each time nature decides to display and act on the other side of it....

Good one from NEMA
Problem is that it's not nature but man made.

Why will you open dams that you know the water will unalive many, destroy homes and farms? They always open the dams during heavy rain so that it'll look as if it's the rain that did it whereas they clearly opened the dams and unalived people.
Guess what? No one can hold them able

They buy a HF inverter from a rubbish brand, or grossly misuse it, then say HF inverters are cheap and unreliable when it inevitably fails.
What do you call "misuse"?
They hit it with a hammer or what?
Or is the misuse that they just use heavy loads not meant for HF inverters and they fail in less than 2 years? If its the latter, then what was earlier said was correct.
If none of this, then in what way do they "misuse" it?

I'm honestly trying to learn

Yes, if you treat it with the respect it deserves.

I believe I had mentioned earlier on here that we use a 5kw Growatt HF inverter backed up with solar and grid, that runs 2 inverter ACs, 6-10 rechargeable fans, 1 deep freezer, 1 fridge, washing machine, blender, microwave etc. with ease.

It's been spotless with no issues. However if you intend to install it with a similar mindset this guy has and under similar conditions, please go where your heart leads you, it makes little sense to spend money and have regrets later on.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_2vGNLfnVcY?si=2-UhUGX3CNxVaLDq
Wow. The video you attached. Not much load, yet only 12 months of service. The installer didn't have faith in the Growatt.

Anyway, could be coz of the dusty environment, or he got a faulty device. Because some are claiming here they've used same inverter for 3 years with heavy loads and no problem.

Well I guess we praise it because it delivers and is good value for money spent. It's like the days of Lead Acid when beginners like me thought Trojan must be great because its what they use in America....only for me to luckily find places like this that taught me the Indian made Quanta is a far better battery to use because it was designed for tropical climates like ours.

So yes Growatt has it issues (especially if you are forced to rely on their warranty), but it's design is superior to Felicity inverters....and I believe more reliable.

As for the bold, you are the first person to claim I am shouting, but no vex sha. I make a lot of typographical mistakes and I find it easier to read through in bold.

Now permit me to sincerely seek your advice.
Would you advice me to constantly run my deep freezer, refrigerator, occasional washing machine and blender on the 6kw Growatt inverter (from fouani) in a dusty environment of far northern Nigeria with constant 40ºc temperature?

If you think it's OK, I'll get it. If not, give me a better alternative.

Thanks for the compliment.
Against wood degrading pests, the wooden casings stand no chance.
From this month however, 12v 3.5kwh/4kwh buyers wll have the option to choose btw plastic and wooden case. 24v 7.1 - 8kwh buyers will also have the option to choose btw wooden and foreign metal case.

Pls where can i see your prices for the 12v 3.5kwh with metal case?

Chief you said many incorrect things and your long post would have been better served if you focused your argument at saying LF inverters are more reliable than HF inverters when it comes to consistently carrying bigger loads.

Instead you incorrectly inferred that the inverters brands that are usually recommended by most on this board (Deye, SRNE, Growatt) are meant for the poor and 80% die in less than 2 years, directly contradicting the years of testimonies this thread is built on. Or is their a survey you want to point to that confirms this fact that you claim?

Using this forum as a basis it is clear that people are well served using quality HF inverters brands and there have been plenty tales of transformer based inverters that weigh a mountain that are repeatedly repaired and give little value.

Your advice in this day and age is pretty inaccurate/archaic and has been rightly called out by the majority of contributors here.... its definitely not meant to be taken personal, as most people on here are new and come for advice, especially as they know very little about this world.

The bolded letters seemed like you are shouting at me. Calm down.
I may have made a quick less informed mention of Deye and SRNE, but I know for a fact that Growatt in the USA is seen as a poor alternative to better inverters. They get very bad reviews generally over the years. Because of the 120v output? I don't know, but it's not considered a good brand. But we praise it here as one of the best.

High frequency inverters have come a long way, and you should know this if you have stayed current with RE knowledge.

Also you berating SRNE and then praising Felicity over Growatt is pretty revealing though.

This is one of the reasons people keep saying we should focus more on testimonies and real life experiences rather than ancient text book knowledge, oh well.
I mentioned the use case where it's better. You purposely excluded that use case.

If I say 2010 corolla is better than 2025 tesla Y in naija bad road doesn't mean that the corolla is a better car than tesla. Tesla is better than it, but not in that use case.

Bro... It's cheap.
You'll get quality 5kva inverters 48v from $2k with 5 years warranty. Deye naija price is $900-1100. They are considered as cheap for who can't get strongly built ones.
Anyway, wetin I know

We Nigerians praising inverters like Growatt, SRNE etc which are cheap and high frequency shows our shallowness in good solar applications..

Growatt in the west is meant for the poor who can't afford solid inverters and for 80% s they die on them after 18 months or 2 years.

Manufacturers of inverters make it clear to s not to use high frequency inverters for heavy loads. They are not meant for devices with inductive loads like fridge, freezer, pumps, AC. They are not meant for offgrid home applications when you know you'll use the loads. High frequency inverters (without transformers) are for light equipments like lightings, TV, phones, laptop, security cams etc. That's why they are Damn cheaper than low frequency ones. There components are not meant to handle heat for long.

But for us, we will use them with AC, pump, freezer etc and since it's working (of course it'll work), we claim they are the best. But they won't last on the long run.

A low frequency felicity inverter is multiple times better than your highest brand (Deye, Growatt, Tesla) high frequency inverter for offgrid use with heavy loads.

If you are going for offgrid, spend the extra money and get yourself a low frequency transformer based inverter. They are made to withstand heat, dust, heavy loads and harsh environments.

If you need inverter for your office, farm or home, for just light, laptop, TV, printer etc. No need to go for low frequency. Go then for high frequency inverters and save cost

Haisic has 24v 280ah for 800k but its not with smart BMS.Youc an talk to @valtoand @Mr reed to build a 5kw for you but with less than million naira , you can conveniently get a 7kw 24v with smart BMS from @MrReed.I dont know the current price for @valto
Is there a 12v 280ah?
ask4bk(m): 9:13pm On May 30
HeavenlyBang:

Damn, I don't think anyone else is making 24v in these capacities.
Must be on special demand only.
Such size with 24v will require high amps to charge it and it's hard to get a charge controller of such. To get 4kw from sun you'll need about 200a charger, something that on 48v you'll get with simple 100a charger.
That's why 48v is better for those big batteries.
But there must be people who just want them like that and he will give them what they want.

If you are going to now stay at Lagos, yes, absolutely do that. Cancel before next sub date.
You can't activate starlink in Lagos now.

Priests in the USA are exempted from tax coz they don't get salary but a stipend which isn't taxable. Same with the Pope. He gets no salary but a stipend which many popes don't even collect. Why do you think it'll be different for Pope Leo?
