Let's keep Lagos clean! It's a collective responsibility to make Lagos clean again. Dispose of waste properly and stop disposing waste in drainages to avoid flooding.

They failed to address the issue of PSP operators not coming to collect wastes for more than a month.

Increase the fine not only for the offenders but also for refuse collectors who fail to show up for waste collection.

As if lawma is doing their work. It took them over 2 months to come to my area for refuse packing. Everywhere was just smelling. After which they will still collect thousands of naira for the times they did not come. Mtcheww.

My own advice for LASG is to take Waste Management very serious.. just like industries and job creation are key in an economy, waste management too is vital for sustainability on the long run. The millions of people in Lagos will translate to multi-million tons of wastes released into the environment. Industries nko?, markets, agricultural sector etc. these all have their wastes released to the environment. Lagos needs plenty Agencies like LAWMA now more than ever, if atal we want to make progress. Govt. should treat Waste sector same way as others and provide enough funding for Waste management. If you like, impose fine from now till when trumpet will sound, people will still dump wastes because you don't expect them to eat their dustbins. |
