Yea. Even in the same UK and most developed countries, citizens(public and private) don't save enough money in their jobs. Na stipends(pocket money) that is always available to dem. The main thing is that their social amenities is working. This is the important thing to dem! olaolaking: |

I see it as a mere ment and not mockery. It's purely basic economic needs, it's not everybody that can afford certain products.

my brother make money, so that you stop reading meaning into every little thing. I was once broke, battered and buffeted and I had such mindset, but now I laugh at jokes and careless talks without thinking too much. Even your president is a civil servant, all politicians are civil servants. Everything get levels. Civil servants civil servants. Inside civil service, another civil service dey. If you know, you know. #Peace |

Nigerian's like to normalize and celebrate evils.

RealityKings1: True, but...does it mean that if a bully in your son's school throws a jab at him due to a particular defect/challenge that everyone knows about, he is right and must be left alone? What this man was addressing here is the fact that Civil servants should not be made an object of ridicule, just because they obviously can afford a lifestyle. It is obvious to everyone and so must not be rubbed in. Only foolish people speak that way. |

1Alex:Lol. This can't be true. Besides all our Senators and Commissioners and Generals and Ministers and President etc they are all Civil Servants and many if not all have other businesses apart from "farming". |

Nigeria has no punishment for those who violate her laws and constitution.. that statement "this is not for civil servants" is both a treasonable offence against the Federal Republic of Nigeria and a serious economic crime. Without the civil service, you won't have any semblance of a country or a Government to start with.. civil servants and/or public servants simply refer to Government employees at all levels (Federal, States and Local Government). |

Bebold: It is an offence for a civil servant to own any form of business, except farming. Now tell me where u want to farm in abuja ![]() |

Bebold: Oga, you don't have to lie to make a point, Where did you check that the more advanced a society develops, the lower the number of civil servants? You people will just sit down and assume your imaginary imagination will suddenly transform to life like it is realistic.

It is really a pity that Civil servants are made mockery of. This is one of many reasons many civil servants have no ed 419 and fraud as their side hustle. Go to Ebonyi state government offices and many other states, and see the criminalities going on there. They are using government letterheads and stamps to swindle contractors. The other day it was a Federal hospital in Anambra with several job seekers swindled with fake appointment dates, and ors swindled with government letterheads. |

I ve had to deal with civil servants when processing government documents, there was an era when they had respect, BTW some still try. But the work environment is toxic. No civil servant is good especially the senior ones, they are the ones who corrupt politicians, teach them how to loot. Look at the consequence now. 2 Likes |

FIRDAUS3: Donโt be surprised since Naija has become a country whr so many people ire someone like Trump. A man that is the very definition of immorality, greed, selfishness, vanity, narcissism what have you. We are slowly becoming as shallow as the western societies we are always condemning. |
grandstar(m): 5:21pm On May 27 |
The statement is even senseless as many civil servants are rich. They do deals by the side or are engaged in PP. Many nowadays seek civil service jobs so that they have sufficient time to engage in PP. If not pp, it is corrupt practice. |
grandstar(m): 5:27pm On May 27 |
Bebold: If Tinubu wins a re-election, he is going to re-strategize the civil service. This would also involve mass layoffs of many civil servants. Most people know the civil service is bloated. A reduction in numbers might also lead to increase pay for those remaining. He dare not cut their number down now as it would definitely lead to a loss in the next elections. He is postponing the end of electricity subsidies to during his second term as well. 1 Like |

grandstar: You are realistic and unbias. Truth is that the civil service itself is a huge burden on the government. The world has gone far, a single computer system can replace a good number of civil servants in some ministries. But people won't like to hear the harsh truth. 2 Likes 2 Shares |
Bebold: 5:40pm On May 27 |
grandstar: Then those ones won't be offended by this topic. That statement isn't senseless, but may unsettle those civil servants who don't do deals by the side, or are engaged in PP. Afterall that's what I'm encouraging them to do. |

While searching for a job after years of being a graduate I though getting a Federal Job (civil service) was the Bomb, until I got one and damn I started regretting working 5 years without being filled into the IPPIS system, no promotion, no salary increase no added benefit. My advice to youths out there is this, learn a skill seek capital and expand your business, the Nigerian government doesn't care about you and I... It's only the people in Power that enjoys power 1 Like 1 Share |
