There is nothing here. If itโs not for civil servants itโs not for them. If they want to afford it then they have to start thinking of what else they can do to be able to afford the car!

Lawalemi:Forget APC, civil service jobs have never been a route for financial sustainability unless you are getting the level of cutting corners. I a friend that got a job in a bank 22 years back from a federal civil service, the salary package is more than 400% of civil service job salary. Also, my mum as a trader used to have majority of civil servants as debtors who pay after month end 2 Likes |

A very nice article and I hope the appropriate agency will look into the raise points. If not for madness, how can one pay 3.5 million naira for a ram? I hope classism will end Nigeria someday as we are going. |

You mean the unproductive civil servants??

Bebold: Rather than a message to shun demoralizing statements from adverts, you are encouraging civil servants to engage in a side hustle. Do you know that the stress and loss of concentration will lead to poor service delivery? Money is not everything. It is not only the government that destroys a nation, the people also aid in it's destruction. I pray you don't fall a victim to a burntout, demoralized civil servant. Then you will know. |

Major problem is agriculture in Nigeria is subsistence. And subsistence farming cannot feed a nation of 200 million people...by the time the population reaches that level, you have to have large scale mechanized farming, and animal husbandry...that's how the USA feeds 300 million despite having less than 4 % of the population involved in farming (and not all of it is food production...US Is a major cotton producer for example). Like now, wonder why we don't have large scale ranches to produce as many tons of beef as possible, including for export ? Why most chicken farms are small scale wonders, instead of large scale industrial farms? At the end, we better start finding ways to modernize farming. It starts with banks being willing to lend to large scale farmers more often. |

As truth as all been said are. There is no sector or department (civil servants, cooperate entities, private/public sectors) that can be vindicated from an unlawful act of maximizing wealth. The civil servants for instant uses their pen to control and manipulate figures for their Oga at the top; some uses this to manipulate their ways to the top. It is wisely said that ๐๏ธ as light as it is has been used to kill and make a man. In relative to Nigeria situation, you will have to pay more attention to the lower stair of a building before giving a thought to the upper stairs. The spoils of today all began from the deep rooted part of our tree, and it got infected up to the plank and bore the forbidden fruits we all share around today. Enough can't be said when it comes to our dilapidated states, it's been ages and our elders have kept watch doing nothing till it gets to this period. Indeed, our one day shall be one day... 1 Like 1 Share |

md16: Before APC came the average civil servant can save withing 12-18months and buy a tokunbo 2003 Camry for 1.4Mill or something lesser like a micra or golf 3 for 700k .. now even if they save all their life they can't afford it......the 3.5million naira ram up there used to go for as ceap as 80k..... But hey!! It's not about APC...... |

inoki247:In developed countries, almost everyone uses loan for new cars, whether civil servants or not. It's a credit based system. Only few pay cash for new cars. The difference is a civil servant in those countries can qualify for loan to buy a brand new car based on his salary if he chooses to. 1 Like |

it's not really a mockery. Civil servants can't afford those cars unless with a car loan.. However the ram guy is a criminal. The problem is Nigerians take things too far especially bad and selfish things and now these sellers are exploiting the hyperinflation cos by governments incompetence and failures. |

FIRDAUS3: This is a nonsense article. Why do you people attribute poverty to Godliness and riches to cheating, crookedness, fraud and other forms of crime. Do you think all rich people are wayward? Or you think all civil servants are poor? Or all poor people are holy?. They are just adding humour to their adverts, and If you feel attacked, it simply means you have to double your hustle. Go hustle my man and stop hating on the rich. |
blackboy(m): 2:40pm On May 27 |
Does Op knowhow much civil servants earn? Those saying it is not for civil servants have begun sanitising the country. Not encouraging people living beyond their means. Corruption is running wild because civil servants re living beyond their means. Go find out how much they earn yet many are living like drug lords and corrupt politicians.
