The Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu on Students’ Engagement, Mr Sunday Asefon, has presented free JAMB registration forms to 500 students in Ado Ekiti.

The event, which took place at Fajuyi Hall beside the Ewi’s palace in Ado Ekiti, brought together the beneficiaries who received the free forms as part of Asefon’s initiative to students and their parents.

In his address, Mr Asefon explained that his decision to sponsor the free JAMB registration was driven by a desire to give back to society and encourage young students to remain committed to their studies.

He emphasized that many parents struggle to afford the registration fees, saying the initiative is aimed at easing their burden.

He further highlighted the importance of the recently introduced student loan scheme by President Bola Tinubu’s istration, adding that students can only access the loan after securing ission into higher institutions, making the free JAMB forms a crucial step in helping them cross the first hurdle.

Mr Asefon also encouraged the beneficiaries to embrace the spirit of giving back, urging them to, in turn, assist underprivileged students in the future once they attain success, just as he is doing now.

He credited President Tinubu for giving him the platform to make a positive impact on students’ lives.

In addition to the free JAMB forms, Mr Asefon announced that five students who score the highest marks in JAMB among the 500 beneficiaries would receive full scholarships from their 100 level to their final year in their chosen institutions, while the top three candidates would be awarded laptops, courtesy of the President’s son, Seyi Tinubu.

Speaking on President Tinubu’s commitment to education, Mr Asefon hinted at ongoing policies that could lead to free school fees in the future.

He noted that if the student loan scheme had been available earlier, many students who dropped out due to financial constraints could have continued their education, assuring them that despite obstacles, President Tinubu’s istration is working tirelessly to make education accessible to all Nigerians.

The SSA to the President on Students' Engagement urged the beneficiaries to take their studies seriously, as their academic success would validate the initiative and encourage them to expand it and do more in the coming years.

Mr Asefon also promised to organize coaching centres to help the students prepare adequately for the JAMB examination, just as he prayed for their success and urged them to remain focused on their education to achieve greatness in life.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries' parents, Mrs. Mary Aladetoyinbo expressed gratitude to Asefon for his thoughtful initiative.

Mrs Aladetoyinbo who acknowledged that the gesture would go a long way in alleviating the burden of many parents who could not afford the fees for their children, prayed for more success for Mr Asefon, urging him to sustain his efforts in ing students.

I hope you also grant them scholarships when they gain ission into tertiary institutions cos it's almost not enough getting JAMB forms for the applicants. As a matter of fact parents would rather prefer u allow them get Jamb forms for their children while the sch fees are paid by the buyer of the jamb forms

Doesn't matter.
Some of those folks can't afford the form on their own.
Let's recognize kindness when we see one

You must be a simpleton to accept that buying Jamb forms for 50 students out of the miilions that need them, compared to the bilions allocated to that office,is considered "doing".

No wonder they get away with all sorts in that country called Nigeria. The first thing you should have asked is how much budget that office received from Presidency and for what purpose exactly? The next would then be how much of that is being used for this program and how did they come up with the 50 students?

I wont be surprised if the total cost of the Jamb forms is less than N3m but the amount of money spent on the publicity and event organising to create awareness of this "buying of Jamb forms" be more than N450m. Buy forms for N3m, use N450m to announce it.

Someone is using your tax money to fuel his political ambition and settling his community at the expense of others and here you are ing such....

Nigeria will never be better....its not a curse, its more because we have people like poster below, as the majority in the country .

Lol....when citizens who should be asking true questions if those who are saddled with managing their affairs begin to think like the poster below, i then know thwre is truly no hope for a Nigerian future.

People allocate billions of naira for projects and the buy Jamb form for 50 people(with about N2m) and then spend another N150m in publicity and event expenses to showcase the N2m jamb forms....and the citizens who have the money are busy asking another person to go and spend his own bilions...imagine??

It is over for Nigeria.....no be curse.

Majority of them are block heads. 99% of Nigerians are brainless. They don’t ask questions. They are so gullible and easily deceived. Ironically they always feel they are smart meanwhile they are the most senseless of Gods creature.

Someone came to start buying UTME form without any explanation as to what authority gave him the go ahead.

Is that how other government officials in saner climes just come around to start buying forms for students?

Where did he see the money he’s spending ? does he have an NGO?

What happened to the public classrooms of various schools in the country, have they been properly constructed ?

How about the teachers ,are they placed on competitive salaries and how about their continuous education?

What significant impact do these people make on the national education?

Both Nigerians and the politicians deserve each other. Spit
