Tinubu Bans Homosexuality, Transgender Identity, Cross-Dressing, Tattooing, Others In Nigerian Military Few Days To Trump’s Inauguration
January 12, 2025
NEWS
The Nigerian Armed Forces have established stringent guidelines that prohibit military personnel from participating in activities deemed unethical or unbecoming of their position.
The regulations prohibit military personnel from engaging in certain activities, including homosexuality, lesbianism, bestiality, and cross-dressing, as well as other behaviour deemed inconsistent with the armed forces' ethics.
Additionally, personnel are barred from body piercing, tattooing, disorderly conduct and drunkenness, whether on or off duty.
These rules aim to maintain discipline and adherence to the armed forces' code of conduct.
The directive is outlined in Section 26 of the revised Harmonised Armed Forces and Conditions of Service (HAFCTCS), which was officially signed into effect by President Bola Tinubu in December 2024.
“An officer must not engage in homosexuality, lesbianism, and bestiality. He/she is not to belong to, or engage in activities of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender or Trans, Queer or Questioning, Intersex, Asexual or Agender, Two-Spirit (LGBTQIA2S+) group and cross-dressing, amongst others,” the document partly reads.
The regulations also prohibit military personnel from engaging in “body piercing and tattooing of any part of his body”.
“An officer shall not engage in any form of disorderly behaviour, brawl, or any action of public disgrace. An officer must not at any time be drunk whether on or off duty,” the regulations say.
The condition of service also forbids the involvement of officers in amorous relationships with subordinates or their spouses.
The revised Harmonised Armed Forces and Conditions of Service emphasises the need for military personnel to maintain professional boundaries, noting: “An officer shall not engage in any amorous relationship with any soldier/rating/airman/airwoman, fellow officer’s or soldier’s/rating’s/airmen’s/air women’s spouse.”
The revised and conditions outline additional key regulations, including the requirement for personnel to meet their financial obligations, such as timely payment of vehicle licensing and insurance fees. Non-compliance is considered a serious offense, along with the issuance of dishonoured checks.
Furthermore, the revised prohibit military officers from affiliating with secret societies or participating in political parties.
“An officer shall pay all just financial obligations in a proper and timely manner, especially those imposed by law and mutual contract. It is a very serious offence for an officer to be apprehended for failure to license or insure his vehicle, and other legal financial obligations. In the same vein, the issuance of a dud cheque constitutes an offence.
“An officer shall not hold hip of any secret society or political party. He shall not participate, in any way, in activities concerned with such societies or parties even in observatory capacities.
“For the avoidance of doubt, since cultural or purely traditional religious societies are not normally secret by hip or in the conduct of their affairs, they are ipso-facto excluded from belonging to secret societies,” the regulations state.
Meanwhile, a military source described the g of the reviewed HAFCTCS by Tinubu as strategic, coming a few days before the inauguration of Donald Trump as the United States President.
“It is interesting that Tinubu approved a ban on homosexuality in the military a few days before the expiration of Joe Biden’s White House and Trump’s inauguration,” the source told SaharaReporters.
Trump, known for his conservative stance on LGBTQ+ issues and other matters, is set to be sworn into office on January 20.
“Tinubu knew what he was doing; Trump will not impose sanctions on Nigeria for banning gays in the military. Of course, you know the Trump regime was very harsh towards (then President) Muhammadu Buhari to the point that Buhari openly celebrated his defeat,” the source said.

Trump Bars Transgender Women From U.S. Female Prisons
January 24, 2025
NEWS
President Trump has issued an executive order banning transgender women from being housed in men's federal prisons.
He also ordered that any medical treatments related to gender transition be halted, according to a New York Times report.
The ban was part of a broader executive order by Trump aimed at limiting the federal government's recognition of gender to an individual's biological sex at birth.
The order also impacts transgender immigration detainees and is among the most concrete aspects of the broader initiative.
While Trump had imposed some restrictions on housing and medical care for transgender inmates during his previous term, this new order extends those limitations significantly.
New York Times reports that the Women's Liberation Front, a group that advocates for single-sex prisons and defines women based on biological sex, praised the order as a "major victory."
The group is currently challenging a California law allowing transgender prisoners to request housing that aligns with their gender identity, claiming it violates the rights of non-transgender female inmates, especially their Eighth Amendment protections against cruel and unusual punishment.
Trump's order echoes these concerns, arguing that efforts to undermine the biological reality of sex are harmful to women’s dignity, safety, and well-being.
Transgender advocates and legal experts have criticized the order, warning it could endanger transgender inmates.
"There will be rapes and physical assaults because of this policy," said Shannon Minter, legal director of the National Center for Lesbian Rights.
He added that the policy would also complicate matters for prison officials who currently have the discretion to prioritize the safety and security of their facilities.
Legal experts note that the order may face legal challenges, as courts have ruled that prison systems must protect vulnerable inmates and provide necessary medical care, including hormone therapies for those with gender dysphoria.
In 2022, a federal judge ordered the Bureau of Prisons to provide gender-transition surgery for a transgender inmate, citing a violation of the Eighth Amendment.
Trump's executive order, titled "Defending Women From Gender Ideology Extremism and Restoring Biological Truth to the Federal Government," specifically impacts transgender women, but not transgender men.
While the total number of transgender prisoners is small (about 1,500 transgender women in federal prisons), they make up a significant portion of the incarcerated female population—around 15%.
There are about 750 transgender men in federal custody.

Trump Halts Federal Funding For Transgender Healthcare For Minors
January 29, 2025
NEWS
United States President Donald Trump has issued an executive order ending federal funding and for healthcare aiding transgender youth.
The move, announced on Tuesday, follows a series of measures restricting transgender rights within his first eight days in office, Reuters reports.
"It is the policy of the United States that it will not fund, sponsor, promote, assist, or the so-called 'transition' of a child from one sex to another, and it will rigorously enforce all laws that prohibit or limit these destructive and life-altering procedures," the executive order declared.
ers, including the Alliance Defending Freedom, hailed the decision as "a refreshing return to sanity." Critics, however, expressed outrage.
Marci Bowers, a surgeon providing transgender care, said Trump would "have blood on his hands."
Chase Strangio of the American Civil Liberties Union vowed legal action, stating, "We will not allow this dangerous, sweeping, and unconstitutional order to stand."
Lambda Legal also pledged resistance, citing the "unnecessary pain and suffering" the order could inflict on transgender youth.
The executive order aims to block Medicare payments for transgender healthcare and limit Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act, which prohibits insurers from denying coverage to transgender patients.
Trump also directed the health and human services secretary to review "best practices" for transgender healthcare within 90 days.
Bowers, a former president of the World Professional Association for Transgender Health, defended current standards for transgender youth.
"They're trying to make gender binary, and that's simply not how gender is," she said.
The move comes as Republicans in more than half of U.S. states have ed laws restricting gender-affirming care for minors, with some cases awaiting Supreme Court rulings that could set nationwide precedents.

South Africa Doesn't Receive Funding From US Except For HIV/AIDS Programme — President Ramaphosa Replies To Donald Trump’s Threat

February 3, 2025
News
South African President, Cyril Ramaphosa, has responded to United States' President, Donald Trump's threat to cut funding from the African country, stating that South Africa receives no funding from the US except for PEPFAR aid, which s South Africa's HIV/AIDS programme.
President Trump had vowed to cut off all future funding to South Africa, citing concerns over "land expropriation and alleged discriminatory treatment" of some residents, particularly foreigners in the country.
Trump had mentioned this in a post shared on his Truth Social on Sunday after South African President, Cyril Ramaphosa, signed an expropriation bill into law, allowing the government to seize land without compensation in certain cases.
The newly ed legislation in the country permits expropriation without compensation only in circumstances where it is "just and equitable and in the public interest" to do so.
This includes if the property is not being used and there is no intention to develop or profit from it or when it poses a risk to people.
Trump condemned the situation, stating that the country is "confiscating land, and treating certain classes of people VERY BADLY."

He also accused the "Radical Left Media" of ignoring the issue, which he described as a "massive Human Rights VIOLATION".
He had written, “South Africa is confiscating land, and treating certain classes of people VERY BADLY. It is a bad situation that the Radical Left Media doesn't want to so much as mention.
“A massive Human Rights VIOLATION, at a minimum, is happening for all to see. The United States won't stand for it, we will act. Also, I will be cutting off all future funding to South Africa until a full investigation of this situation has been completed.”
In a statement issued on Monday morning, the South African President that his country is a constitutional democracy rooted in the rule of law, justice, and equality.
He clarified that his government has not confiscated any land as claimed by Donald Trump.
He claimed that the recently adopted Expropriation Act is a constitutionally mandated process aimed at ensuring public access to land in an equitable and just manner.
Ramaphosa noted that expropriation laws are not unique to South Africa, as many countries, including the US, have similar laws balancing public usage of land with property owners' rights.
Ramaphosa expressed his willingness to engage with the Trump istration on land reform policy and bilateral issues, confident that these discussions will lead to a better understanding between the two nations.
He wrote: “South Africa is a constitutional democracy that is deeply rooted in the rule of law, justice and equality. The South African government has not confiscated any land.
“The recently adopted Expropriation Act is not a confiscation instrument, but a constitutionally mandated legal process that ensures public access to land in an equitable and just manner as guided by the constitution.
“South Africa, like the United States of America and other countries, has always had expropriation laws that balance the need for public usage of land and the protection of rights of property owners.
“We look forward to engaging with the Trump istration over our land reform policy and issues of bilateral interest. We are certain that out of those engagements, we will share a better and common understanding over these matters.
“The US remains a key strategic political and trade partner for South Africa. With the exception of PEPFAR Aid, which constitutes 17% of South Africa’s HIV/Aids programme, there is no other funding that is received by South Africa from the United States.”

John Mills – The Gateway Pundit – Feb 21, 2025
President Trump and Defence Secretary Hegseth have made it very clear. The United States will have the best Military in the world, bar none. This goal is being established to deter and prevent conflict, not start it, slip into it, or perpetuate it. The President and Secretary of Defence have also said we will grow the military and also cut inefficient spending. This message is not an oxymoron – with the DOGE raids on other departments, the horror stories of fraud, waste, and abuse are far worse than we thought.
