I don't know why they are so fixated on that tolling, despite the gridlock that comes with it. Government should be able to prudently manage their scarce resources instead of looking at easy way of making more money that they will end up squandering. There are lots of leakages and fraud that goes on within the State's procurement system, with contracts and procurements being over inflated.

They actually protested against SARS, not against toll. But whichever way, they still lost the battle because POLICE ARE STILL BRUTAL.

In saner climes, when tolls are collected, it is pushed back into the society and use for the betterment of the citizens.

If that is what it will be used for in this part of the world, it is highly welcome
Bit if it is going to be looted (this is what the sane ones put of the ones protesting) are really scared of.
The government should let the citizens believe in them
Sanwo-Olu is really trying with infrastructures as we can all see anyways.

God bless Nigeria 🇳🇬

That stretch of road is the best maintained in the country. Let's be fair. That company employs Nigerians as well.

undecided

They know exactly what they are doing.

From day 1, none of the alternative routes for any of these tolled roads has ever, ever worked properly. They have never worked because the LASG doesn't want them to work. The alternative routes are not maintained, traffic and planning by-laws are observed in the breach, retail markets spill over unto the roads etc. Why? because the LASG wants to frustrate motorists into using the tolled roads, every single day.

It is cynical and extremely short sighted on the part of the LASG. What happens if something major (e.g. an accident involving heavy duty vehicles) goes wrong on the tolled road? This has actually happened before. People ended up spending 4 hours on a stretch of road that should take 15 minutes - all because of the LASG's love of money over and above the desire to serve.

For the LASG this whole thing is a zero sum game. Know this and have peace.

That road that used to be the best in Lagos is gradually deteriorating because they stopped tolling motorists. Unfortunately, massive traffic gridlock is about to return again. I'm just ambivalent about this news.

Yiu don't live in Lekki then..the road has never been good for one day so please stop lying ..I am speaking as a very regular of that road for many years now
