Only a totally blind person will be oblivious of the fact that nigeria as a country is ruined as a result of fundamental ignorance and the despicable height of moral decadence among the ruling elites aka ruling chimps, like obasanjo, babangida, atiku, yaradua and even jonathan and co. Nigeria is a country where ignorance, stupidity, irresponsibility, backwardness, corruption and all traits of human ills tend to be norms of the society and up coming children grow up assimilating these norms as models for life endeavours. Of course,a country like nigeria where thieves, paedophiles, retards and all sorts of scums of the earth are leaders will inevitably breed the nest generation of like minded leaders,it will always remain a vicious circle of backwardness, wraths and doom, unless rational minds step in,bail the cat, sift the harvest from the weed, put the unfit leaders away and set a platform for progressive and rational society. All the talk about elections, zoning and what have you are still the same schemes of retards in their quest to holding the country down.Nothing good will ever come out of ignorance,it's the wrath of the gods to be ignorant. |

Might be true but how did we get here? Who is responsible? government, us, foreigners? We let Nigeria become the joke. I let Nigeria be the joke. Isn't it time we start taking responsibility for our inactions and stop making excuses for Nigeria? Otherwise we will keep talking about this again.

FL Gators: If youre yawning go to sleep because you no get mouth to talk if you havent been in Nigeria to understand the way things go or how they are. Whether Nigeria is a joke or not is your own opinion because there are Americans who think America is joke or theres british who think the UK can be better, Indians who think india is shiot and Chinese who think china's socialist policies are backward. Living in yankee thinking about what ever memories you HAD in ekiti - you probably dont even know how you left Nigeria for the simple fact you said " It wasnt the country I left" lol you are clown. if you lived in Nigeria in the 90's you would know Nigeria was 10 times worse. and is even better today than it was previously since 1960's and the military regimes. Go to sleep son @poster- Nigeria maybe a joke but its getting more mature and better everyday little by little. Im not even a nationalist or someone who believes in Nigeria just a guy who stating the truth. |

sjeezy8: I have lived in Ghana, I have stayed in South Africa and visited Kenya, Rwanda and Uganda. Nigeria is a joke compared to these other countries. And you have the audacity to say it far better than other African countries. Have you visited other African countries? Even Rwanda and Uganda are better places with good infrastructure. Learn to leave Nigeria and experience the rest of Africa. |
sjeezy8: 6:36pm On Jun 20, 2010 |
EzeUche: shut your mouth if youve not been around all of kenya, uganda or rwanda please be quite. Someone can stay in Abuja and say "yea Nigeria is the best place to live" as your doing now and not even know there is poor- nearly non existent infastructure in the ND. common sense. |
sjeezy8: 6:42pm On Jun 20, 2010 |
lemmi change my statement- because I cant talk for all of Nigeria But where Ive been in SW Nigeria- Lagos Ibadan Akure and Abeokuta(all of which have very good infrastructure past other 3rd world countries) are FAR better than MANY AFRICAN COUNTRIES and even some asian ones. ezeuche just because your village is shiothole doesnt mean All of Nigeria is a shiothole. |

You know one thing, nigeria is one of the blessed nation in west africa, but our leaders are really getting the economy worse. You can imagine a country like ghana and the rest getting better just because of good leaders. To my own opinion nigeria is gonna have a change only when we have have God fearing leaders

EzeUche(m): 6:45pm On Jun 20, 2010 |
sjeezy8: You call SW Nigeria developed? Ha! Filled with slums and I have been throughout SW Nigeria and I am not impressed. Like I said, travel outside Nigeria and see better infrastructure. |

Nigeria can never be serious with irresponsible and unable leadership. As long as nigerian leaders and public servants keep seeing nigerian resources and revenues as honey that can be taken away from bees in their hives with impunity, the country will remain a joke. For us to make a headway, every bit of money allocated to anybody, from the president down to the least official in the council or any public parastatal must be ed for and must justifiable, undue and unable incentives must cease to make the position of leadership less attractive to senseless and wanton criminals. Leadership is a sacrifice not a honey comb |

@redsun, do you actually keep yourself abreast about what is happening in Nigeria? Do you actually research and see what progress if any is being made even on state levels? Not just politically, but in industry and infrastructure wise? I do agree with your observation of Nigeria, but its not totally barren of any progress IMO.

londoner: I am not saying projects are not being carried out at all in nigeria but that out of every project being carried out by any government establishment in nigeria, over fifty percent of the total amount of the said project will be lost to corruptions and fictitious expenditures, just like the case of bankole, the said speaker of nigerian house of honorables and the 'golden torchlights' No amount of money is too small to be overlooked, even if it is five pounds, because if any one of them is short paid of hundred naira of their salaries, they are not going to take it lightly,so why should the masses take it lightly when they rip them off of million and millions of dollars with impunity? |

Re: Nigeria Is A Joke by Nobody: 9:57pm On Jun 20, 2010 |
sjeezy8:What does ekiti have to do with this? I've lived in Lagos in the 90s and it was better then than now. So carry go with your patriotism. |
redsun(m): 10:16pm On Jun 20, 2010 |
The most sad thing about nigerian factor is when nigerians that live in the progressive world, enjoying the benefits of human common sense, responsibilities and abilities justifies in anyway the backwardness, irresponsibilities, unabilities and recklessness of governance in nigeria.

bgees: The only thing that make sense to individuals like you are dead matters like who is better between dead beat obasanjo and dead beat ibb or jonathan.Issues that can liberate you, rattles you and when oyinbos say we are not mentally matured enough to solve fundamental problems as a people we will say they are racist but the facts are all quite glaring we can't solve problems. |
ifele(m): 11:49pm On Jun 20, 2010 |
Best thing is for Nigeria to just break up. Let the Yorubas and Ibos get their own nation-states.
|
ifele(m): 11:52pm On Jun 20, 2010 |
If you dont have money in Nigeria just know you are in hell. The elders are corrupt and they are destroying the youth. Yoruba and Ibo separation is the only way for the YOUTH to be free.Shout out to my MASSOB brothers and sisters. |
