In every sporting event, there should be first aid services including an ambulance.R should have started on the pitch and patient transported safely and swiftly in an ambulance with oxygen and trained personnel. Now,we have only information from one party(the corpers).there are few possibilities:
1)A case of negligence(very unlikely though)
2)The doctor could be saving someone else's life at that moment.for example in the theatre
3)The doctor might have referred verbally immediately they came(after realizing the case cant be managed in the hospital, likely a poorly equipped hospital),but he was begged and begged to please help.Note that when doctors refer, relatives at times dont understand that its for the benefit of the patient. Most times, they stay and beg and beg.i have seen this countless times.
We only have one side of the story.May be the doctor even attempted R.Its not good to condemn all doctors without having information about all that happened in this case.

some of this doctors are not qualified to be in this world . I when my younger sis was about to be operated at FMC makurdi and those doctors were not willing to operate her simply because d bill will be paid by national health insurance scheme. what a country ?
I do not believe this your story. What was your sister's ailment. Except for some emergencies, patients need proper preparation before surgery.

From abak to uyo is how many minutes that they spent so much time begging a quack doctor? Doctor who was not sure of what to do cos that might turn the searchlight in him and possibly cause the authority to find out he's not a real doctor.

It's very obvious the doctor is incompetent. He don't know what to do so he had to disappear. It's an emergency that he can't handle. Most of our doctors only know how to treat headache and malaria. Anything aside that is a big challenge and calls for God's intervention.
They only play away their time in school only to graduate and be called a doctor.
Shame!!!!
....heartattack...he was probably dead b4 goin to hospital, for heart attack u go dey blame doctor....the man was certainly not healthy or having a heart issue he never knew about....

Clap for yourself nice defence.
I pity for this country. what is actually responsible for the increasing Stupidity among youths?
....oga he is not stupid, if u stay around doctors or u are one u will understand...some situations are hopeless and they know that very much, but doesnt stop them in stering care and hoping for a miracle, wether na naija or uk....This was a heartattack and treatment should hv started right from the pitch for any hope of survival like R in the right way....the man might hv been clinically dead on arrival or no equipments for life if he had any chance, what would a doctor do?...magic

Even in the so-called hopeless situation they should do their bids still. there should not be room for quess or experience . I know that some hospitals lack necessary equipment to handle a case when such is the case doctor should react swiftly by referring them to better hospitals.
it unfortunate that this has become a normal story in this Country.

...okay by referring to a better hospital which they hv to go to, time is very important in this situation.....over 10-15 minutes with no blood to the brain, that person don die since...but still does not change the fact that our health system is very poor and many deaths are avoidable.Truth be told, its not just doctors fault, many factors play here...

Many factors contributed yes but the doctor's attitude from the report was not ethical and it is becoming typical of Nigeria doctors which is worrisome
