This is a well put together documentary about Nigeria. Parents watch this with your children

OBJ trumpet blowers.....blow your way to hell.....OBJ, Abacha, Shagari, Buhari, Babangida.....all put Nigeria on a fast train to destruction.

the WICKEDNESS OF HEART OF A BLACKMAN....even the devil himself go wither!!

The greatest mistake was perhaps getting independence when we did......i pity the future generation

This documentary is biased and unprofessional. The biafran war was made to look like the Nigerian army v. 7 white mercenaries, the the narrator goes as far as insulting Nzeogwu tribalistically. This would be akin to a documentary in the US referring to someone as a N*gger. Complete insanity that is only excepted in Nigeria.

Also at the end it presented Obasanjo as the best thing to happen to Nigeria angry

This let the whole documentary down.

It also represented Buhari and Abacha unfairly

you can tell how lazy the maker got towards the end because from buhari till 'today' went by in a flash, you would swear nothing happened

Major Ngeogwu was a really handsome, well-spoken, casually evil devil.
He sounds exactly like a university student in present-day Nigeria.

The Sardauna of Sokoto's gleeful explanation of his tribalistic policy is funny.

Watching the gowon-Ojukwu peace parley:
Gowon comes accross as the kind of army officer who could have been a popular democratic leader.
Perhaps that's why he got into power despite not being the organizer of the coup against Ironsi.
Ojukwu was melancholic in comparison. But he had a just cause that Igbos believed in.

-- The Igbo cause was just tho.

I have watched this video before, the only person that made any sense to me was Gowon. Lots of pretenders and power hungry opportunist.

Yea, Gowon was alright. But he also got power hungry. "Nigeria is not yet ready for a return to civilian rule"

Danjuma was a smart dude. He refused to take Murtala Muhammed's role after the assassination. I wonder if he's still alive.

Have it on my system. The Op is just one hypocrite. Why didn't he mention the very beginning of our problems as captured in the documentary which was the First Coup organised by mostly officers from Igbo extraction??
Seun(m): 4:44pm On Jan 27, 2015
Over time, our military leaders got older and fatter.

I still think Ojukwu is an asshole, sorry. He comes across as such in this video. No charisma; just a dour sourpuss. He would have been a hated dictator for life if Biafra won. He knew that the odds were against Biafra but he still risked the lives of his people. The Igbo cause was just tho.
seriously? ojukwu was never an asshole

Yep, Danjuma is still alive. The only person who ever rejected power in the history of the country heh.

People loved Murtala Muhammed but I think he would have turned bad since he was corrupt. He had very good PR skills though. Unfortunately, his PR stunt of trying to live like an ordinary Lagosian in his own home and driving himself to work ironically is what led to his death.

Gowon's involvement in the Dimka coup is shocking. Was he a green snake afterall, or did he just miss power so badly?

You have not answered my question cool

By the time of the Murtala Muhammed coup, the senior leaders in the military were tired of power. But their subordinates were not.

Fela's tirade against democracy sounds incredible dumb now, considering the fact that his mum was killed by the next military government.

Secession would have been beneficial to Igbos because of the oil in the Niger Delta region. Biafra would have been far richer than the other regions. But that is precisely why a peaceful secession was impossible. That is why Awo did not agree with Ojukwu's plan for the 3 regions of the country to split up; the plan would only have benefitted the South East. It's like trying to divorce your spouse after winning a huge fortune.

.
Are you implying that Awolowo would have prefered to form a country with the eastern region?
