Messi can't be benched or sold. Griezmann will have to suffer being called a flop and a useless g.

Assuming our midfielders are also as rugged as Lenglet. Our opponent won’t even have the confidence to come to our box 18. But our midfielders are either jogging behind them or letting them in our box... cry

True that defenders are often criminally neglected and underrated.

No one mentions the life saying interceptions in the box made by Pique and Lenglet tonight.

When you say somebody else,

I could think of Neymar, Mbappe, De Bryune.

But definitely not Griezman.

Griezmann is very good player and world class. If you look at his matches with and Atleti, he was all about playing just off the main striker, Giroud, Costa etc. With Barca though his role and movement is different. The spaces and free role he had is not there anymore. That is precisely why he struggles and is generally frustrating in this new role. He is not use properly because his best position is occupied by Messi.

Also I feel Lautaro Martinez will also suffer the same fate. He is another one of those second striker type players. We can't move forward properly until Messi has a defined role and no coach we currently have can restrict Messi.

Na to get another way to manage Griezman be the main thing

Let me sarcastic. It's actually that no coach can restrict him from playing free role. Even his days as a false 9 was more of a freestyle type

You are wrong. There is no way you will tell me Busi and Jong are jogging behind defenders when they are almost playing upfront.

Seriously am already preparing for what is to come.

By the time Messi leaves we shall become ordinary.

If Messi and secondly Ronaldo have operated at level 10 over the last decade, all other players have operated at level 6 and below.

We are talking about Griezman when Madrid have got Vinicus/Hazard
Liverpool Salah and Mane
Man City Bernado
Juve Dybala

What is special about Griezman?

He can play as a lone striker. He finishes chances well.

Messi definitely followed Pep tactical instructions. I won't say he was free under Guardiola and then you look at Enrique first season when Messi was purely a winger damn he was a monster. We had Messi and Neymar destroying both wings. I have never been a fan of Messi having free role and dropping into midfield because it renders one of our wing useless. You either have Messi take a disciplined tactical role or you have an unbalanced team - not both.

Not a good game

But a very necessary win after last week's Clasico

Setien is not for Barca, he won't last

438 - @FCBarcelona's Lionel Messi has become the all-time top-scorer in the top five European leagues (438 goals in 474 appearances), suring Cristiano Ronaldo (437 in 540). Battle. https:///konZO1J8Pr

to Messi won't work again, that's the truth

We need Neymar more than ever now. Let him be the playmaker and Messi be the finisher
With a functioning Midfield, then we gonna conquer the world

Suarez is very influential, his absence is regrettably felt. Though, he might be useless sometimes or many of the time, there are some things he does that no more else can replicate. Even Messi's lack of goals in recent matches was partially because of Suarez's absence. No one understands Messi's movement better than him

Bros... No let me vex for you o.

It is very unfair to say such about him. He has a very tight fixture ahead of him and he also needs to fight to stay on top of the league with an average team like Barcelona.

We need to see him go.into the market and explore and see how well he does before we can bash him. If not, he's really doing pretty well considering the condition of our team.

To be candid, something is psychologically wrong with Messi at the front of the goal presently.

Though he has scored almost 700 goals, but sometimes warlords lack confidence at battlefield.

He is now missing goals he could have buried even with his eyes closed. Whenever he is clear on goal, it is either he touches the ball heavenly or shoots straight at the goalie.

Something is wrong psychologically, the yellow card he received against Sociedad made it the first time he received three consecutive yellow cards in his playing career.

It is either the burden is taking its toll on him or maybe he is having a serious non footballing issues bothering his mind

I hope he reignite his form sooner rather than later sha

cheesy

I do not think anything is wrong.
I think he's beginning to depreciate.

He's been depreciating.

He's going to be 33 soon.

What is wrong with Messi is a natural effect.

Once upon a time he was winning Pichichi with 50 Goals..

Nowadays he's still winning Pichichi....,
But with 28 Goals.

This illustration of mine tells 2 stories:

1. Messi is surely depreciating.
2. Messi Is still the best.

And Barcelona board are not helping matters now, are they? The team around him is not exactly mediocre yet there is a feeling something is strangely missing. We are not doing enough to extract what juice may still remain in Messi while he gradually winds down to retirement. There is a feeling we have wasted the last four years chasing shadows, spending big money yet utterly unable to build a world class, consistent team. There is a bad feeling we have regressed. Yes, we are still winning trophies but there is still this gnawing, distressing feeling we should have won way more than we did. These feelings are not misplaced, are they? tongue

He hasn't really been the same since his last injury. I feel he still a little bit injured. He is even struggling to get past players. See marcelo's tackle on messi on the last classico. 2015 or 2016 messi would have scored that.

I've mentioned this issues with messi like 1 month ago but some people were criticising me.
Olamyyde(m): 5:39pm On Mar 08, 2020

The most people won't it but messi has been inconsistent this season. He has had games where he has been absolutely terrible for his own standards.

You know something is wrong when messi is struggling to complete dribbles. He has been losing possession throughout the season. I'm tired of the nonsense Am/cm/Dm nonsense he's doing. It's seriously hurting the team. He should just start playing his F9 or rw role again and stick to the position and stop dropping deep.

I mentioned this like a month ago and I was criticised.

Let's just start preparing for life after messi.

The UCL.

Last season's was the easiest UCL we ever could have won.

All we had to do was defend a 3 Nil lead and then thrash Tottenham in the final..

But we blew it.

I bet Athletico will teach us how to do it on Wednesday.

lol

It's easy to say.

I have seen many games where Messi stuck to his RW role and he didn't see the ball for 35 mins.

And then they said he had a disasterclass.

He only started seeing the ball when he had to come deep.

Watch man city match...look at fast tiki taka...good one touch football...tiki taka with counter, they sti take outside shots...
What are Barca coaches doing?
What is Seiten doing?
Instead of fast attack everyone is walking and wait for opponents to set up their entire defence...and u tell me we have a coach? A coach who can't do what is needed?

Barca even has a way better defence than Man city...so we can do it
