After I receive a slap from driver who can't read or write, I was doing my work,
With confidence and boldness he said the boss will not do anything, the I reported the matter to my Boss and 6 children nothing was done so, the family gave me instruction, I follow it and the driver told me, I should follow his own instruction, which I didn't and he gave me two slap, which would have resulted to fight, my boss family are Muslim from Kaduna and the driver is also a Muslim from Kaduna same town and local Government with me Boss family.

I said to myself I'll never do security work in my Life,
A month later I quit. Security work in my Life not just the residents, I give my office my ID card, returns everything Back to them.

I quit

Workers were Layed off. I was the only staff retained .and was supervising the renovation going on and setting other things up in the outlet.. 3months into renovation/rebranding, no salary.. Boss said I wasn't even supposed to get paid, the agreed upkeep money ,since company wasn't in operation..

I silently left.. Dropping all company's property in my possession for them.
nnawah o. A very wicked boss. In as much you were involved in the renovation, you were supposed to get your full salary. Even if it's from his own pocket.

While I agree with you on the problem of overpopulation in our country. China actually has serious unemployment problems as well.
China is not exactly eldorado. There is press and propaganda. But there's also real fundamentals to determine the actual state of an economy:

China is currently grappling with significant unemployment challenges, particularly among its youth. The official youth unemployment rate, previously reported to exceed 20%, was discontinued in August 2023, raising concerns about transparency. The labor market is under strain due to a combination of slow economic recovery, structural issues, and declining demand in critical sectors like real estate and manufacturing.

Young adults are increasingly disillusioned, as reflected in social trends like "lying flat" (tang ping), where individuals opt out of high-pressure societal expectations. The difficulty in finding jobs is exacerbating social unrest and weakening public trust in the government. Additionally, these employment issues are compounded by broader economic challenges, such as a declining property market and stagnating private investment, which further limit job creation

Please, show us where you get your statistics. If you cannotnprove this figure younposted here, kindly not mention me again. From my end, I will talk about urban China. Check the link:

https://www.statista.com/statistics/270320/unemployment-rate-in-china/#:~:text=In%202023%2C%20the%20rate%20of,the%20third%20quarter%20of%202024.

Also, check the pics.

Lastly, no matter where you get your data from, China is expressing diminished young Chinese and they have too many old people. What does this tell you? It was after they control over population. Go make your research well.

Good luck!

I got another job 2015 with bigger salary so I presented the offer to my current employer who said that he will pay so that I will be retained. In 2016, my salary was cut down by 33% to former scale before increase after I had rejected the job offer letter.

I left the company immediately

You lacked wisdom at the time.

I’ve not had the luxury of such because this is Nigeria. I’m surprised mongrels in this forum have done so. I don’t believe 90% of the stories posted.

I’ll use my time on Nairaland as my example. When I penned 10,000 comments only to realize I learned nothing here, saw many topics recycled and bingos came here only with trolling as their intention. Shout out to whichever will post an waist bead topic to the front page.

I wouldn't say Nigeria is overpopulated since we're not even among the top 5 most populated in the world, the only issue is that we have a comatose industrial sector and there's not enough commercial activities going on.
Please list the top five bros and provide verified figures so that we can compare with Naija. Most of you don't know how to use data. Do as I have asked, and we can continue this discussion...otherwise, do not mention me again.

If we had stable power supply with thriving industries, even foreigners would the work force despite our population.
How do you achieve stable power if you do not go out and partner with those who have done so? Is this not what he is doing, and we are still criticizing him? I dislike Tinubu, but I know he will work. I am just concerned that he will lock up opportunities for his boys. Go check my posts even during the election. I have stated several times that he is my top choice among the top four candidates...but none of them are my ideal candidate.

Also, government regulations aren't helping matters. A lot of the entrepreneurs trying to provide jobs are being frustrated by poor government policies and multiple taxation, that's why some bosses are frustrated and their staff are not enjoying benefits. If you observe, most of the people complaining here were working for small businesses, whereas they don't know the struggles their own bosses are going through to stay afloat, but I don't condone a toxic working environment.
Bro...I used to be an employer. I closed down the business. That's a story for another day. However, what I am going to say is that almost everyone is bad in Nigeria. From the most unfortunate to the one sitting in Aso Rock...everyone is a crook. Take it or leave it. And why is it so? We don't care because we are too many. The labor force is there. If you don't want, more than 1000 people around are already fighting for it...not to talk of more than 300,000 a bit far away that want to apply too.

Give me what I requested for, and we will continue our discussion. Thanks.

The day I heard a partner of the firm telling a staff who has been with the company for 10yrs+ that she has not seen any value the staff was adding to the firm shocked

I opened my mouth and was about shouting 'Ha Madam!' This is a staff who we all considered a value asset of the Firm and she was someone who was always available to teach trainees or any new staff the rudiments of the work.
I had to give myself brain and started looking for another job, 2-3 months later I left the Firm o before someone will tell me also that I was not adding any value.

God bless the day I made that move because where I am now, never in my wildest dream would I have thought I would be here.
Now, just a little advise to you who is reading this and feel you can't get something better out there, so you stay in a very toxic and unhappy environment just because of the fear of the unknown, please don't do that to
yourself. Move out of that place and see that the job you think is your all in all is not actually it, there are better opportunities out there if only you make that move.

Before I forget, that same lady who was told that she was not adding any value is now in Canada doing well for herself after I called her one day and told her she needed to move out of that Firm and overcome her fears.

God bless us all.

The stress was too much, early resumption time and late closing time led to series of sickness monthly. I had to quit and get myself adequate treatment instead of only one day off for treatment that they usually give. Imagine having typhoid but they will only give you one day to treat it. Same day that you will come to work to report the sickness issue is the only day they will give you.
Thank God they later increased it to two days off after many staff quit

I was unemployed and logged into nairaland and saw an ment and I applied I was shock to get interview invitation almost immediately after applying. Immediately started prepping myself.

I ed and was called come and start work and I asked would I be paid for the number of days I am going to work since it only few days to the end of the month, they said yes, I gladly started. Annoyingly I wasn't paid for the number of days worked.

My first staff meeting, was when I knew I cannot even work here. The principal was on his top of his voice shouting aggressively, insulting the teachers and none of them could stand up to him or even ask him down to tone down his voice, right there I knew I was not going to stay long, but I decided to forge ahead.

In the history of the school nobody has done lesson for 4 subjects at 20,000, they do 15 subjects 8k, this brought a lot of grumbling among staff, a school with computer yet teacher cannot use the computer set exam questions, I was the first to use my laptop to type exam questions for the classes I was teaching, hell broke loose. I knew this place ain't meant for me. I was teaching one day when I heard the principal shouting aggressively insulting all the teachers, luckily for me, I already collected salary, I just went to the staff room and took my bags and left.

NB: Parents please 🙏 hav an eagle eyes 👀 on your girl child, a lot are happening in secondary schools.

Teachers dey nak secondary girls....

na from secondary school most of these girls you abuse here don spoil....

Oga you are part of Nigeria's problem even if I feel for what you went through.
What is this syndrome that I see everywhere that the oppressed and victims would always seek to protect the name of their oppressor? What slave mindset is this?
Or is it a made up story?
Evil persists because we fail to name and shame oppressors.
I am beginning to suspect a kind of wickedness in it to keep silent. You want others to also experience it also?
There's definitely something wrong with our psyche as Africans and Nigerians which always push is to always indirectly or subconsciously respect, protect, rever and defend abs.
SMH!

I worked for a very popular MD in a renowned oil company.
He is retired now, we worked under his own business.

The man is a devil's advocate.

I was happy I worked under him and experienced all the employee abuse,
No public holidays
No December bonus,
Nothing
You get a promotion, your job role and duties will be tripled but your salary gets a 2k5 top up.
Capitalism at its peak,

I was happy because the experience made me swear never to work for anyone ever in my life again, I almost tore my certificates
He made his staff work on Saturdays without pay, but if u miss a day due to illness you are deducted twice wat your daily ay calculation was.

There was a Muslim holiday for 2days I had to stay home to be sure I wasn't imagining things,

End of month my salary was deducted times 4, oh wow, this one na die. Had to get rid of all my certificates, and went into street hustling,

If I post the man name here , you do Google search and see him, you will not believe such a person that enjoyed so much employee welfare in a foreign oil company in Nigeria will subject people to slavery under his own company,.

Ppl wicked for this Nigeria oo

But china is still okay compared to Nigeria. What about America too, its also fine.
epainos:
These stories I am reading are so sad. Well, it is entirely our fault. When we say we need to work on overpopulation, the majority of those who are suffering continue to insult us. Lol. Even ladies who are supposed to be happy are more likely to insult us.

No matter how great Nigeria is, with our population growing at such a rapid pace, we cannot avoid unemployment. When there are too many of us, why do not they treat us like trash? Is it possible that Estonia, Finland, or even the current China will treat their labor force as trash when they know they are needed? However, go to China when they have not yet addressed overpopulation (they used to be worse than India).I laugh ooo.

Good luck to you all. Enjoy your s..hits...in peace.
