When I was promoted and no salary increament but more work

Workers were Layed off. I was the only staff retained .and was supervising the renovation going on and setting other things up in the outlet.. 3months into renovation/rebranding, no salary.. Boss said I wasn't even supposed to get paid, the agreed upkeep money ,since company wasn't in operation..

I silently left.. Dropping all company's property in my possession for them.

Health issues (surgery) that should be covered or in the least I should receive some financial assistance. The Head of HR asked that what if im not working, wont i stiĺl take care of myself? I should sort myself out. To think they listed comprehensive medical insurance in my employment package. I have resigned sha. Toxic.

Though I just ed few months ago .. I realized that company doesn't have any plans for the workers. Especially there contract staffs.... It takes about 5 to 7 years before you could be there staff ... 4 thousand will be deducted from your salary if you failed to come to work ..

When manager made us work late at night only to wait for his wife to meet up then we can close.

Na you make mistake why would you present the new offer salary to your current employer, what you would have done was to discuss salary increament and if it wasn't forthcoming, you move.

I was loosing weight, I started wearing cloths that I couldn't wear again in my box because I've outgrown them, crazy pressure at work, Team leader was toxic, I resigned without having hope of another job!

Guess what guys? I got an interview invite the third day I forwarded my resignation mail to the HR, and finally, I got the job! I wan mad!

I was unemployed and logged into nairaland and saw an ment and I applied I was shock to get interview invitation almost immediately after applying. Immediately started prepping myself.

I ed and was called come and start work and I asked would I be paid for the number of days I am going to work since it only few days to the end of the month, they said yes, I gladly started. Annoyingly I wasn't paid for the number of days worked.

My first staff meeting, was when I knew I cannot even work here. The principal was on his top of his voice shouting aggressively, insulting the teachers and none of them could stand up to him or even ask him down to tone down his voice, right there I knew I was not going to stay long, but I decided to forge ahead.

In the history of the school nobody has done lesson for 4 subjects at 20,000, they do 15 subjects 8k, this brought a lot of grumbling among staff, a school with computer yet teacher cannot use the computer set exam questions, I was the first to use my laptop to type exam questions for the classes I was teaching, hell broke loose. I knew this place ain't meant for me. I was teaching one day when I heard the principal shouting aggressively insulting all the teachers, luckily for me, I already collected salary, I just went to the staff room and took my bags and left.

NB: Parents please 🙏 hav an eagle eyes 👀 on your girl child, a lot are happening in secondary schools.

mad oh. when i calculated what am earning daily based on monthly salary, i realized hustling in the street is way better. i resigned after 1 years plus. the job drained my brain, working under intense pressure.

thank GOD today 5 years after i can count all my achievements..

Bro, you can't complain, even though you want to complain, don't make it formal. Unless you have another job.

Most private company boss behave like your leaders. As long as they pay you, do your work even if it's an overload. No benefits whatsoever.

In this hard times, some employees are fleecing their employers because how are you people coping communiting to work daily?

An Auntie recently open a business an almost all government agencies are running after her from LGA, State and federal agencies, she's even thinking 🤔 of closing the business.

I worked for a very popular MD in a renowned oil company.
He is retired now, we worked under his own business.

The man is a devil's advocate.

I was happy I worked under him and experienced all the employee abuse,
No public holidays
No December bonus,
Nothing
You get a promotion, your job role and duties will be tripled but your salary gets a 2k5 top up.
Capitalism at its peak,

I was happy because the experience made me swear never to work for anyone ever in my life again, I almost tore my certificates
He made his staff work on Saturdays without pay, but if u miss a day due to illness you are deducted twice wat your daily ay calculation was.

There was a Muslim holiday for 2days I had to stay home to be sure I wasn't imagining things,

End of month my salary was deducted times 4, oh wow, this one na die. Had to get rid of all my certificates, and went into street hustling,

If I post the man name here , you do Google search and see him, you will not believe such a person that enjoyed so much employee welfare in a foreign oil company in Nigeria will subject people to slavery under his own company,.
